Just wanted to pop in to say hello and express how much I appreciated Sophie & Brendan's classic Quickstep.
A lot of folk had written it off beforehand as a 'Slowstep' filled with unnecessary props. However, they raced around the dancefloor and the props were an intrinsic part of the routine and used to very good effect. Clever Brendan!
I also loved the simple yet stylish dress Sophie wore - the colour was fabulous on her.
She danced very well. The overall score was about right, but I'd have preferred 2 x 8s and 2 x 9s. Craig's 7 was insulting.
I'm afraid I share Rose's concerns about the Rhumba. From the little I know, the technique is similar to a slowed down Cha Cha so she'll have to improve her leg straightening and losen up those hips. She also needs to emote in this dance more than any other. I'm not expecting something brilliant, but if she can show improvement, then that's good enough for me.
Don't get your hopes up of a high position on the leaderboard though. Even with a half decent performance, I expect her to be 2nd or 3rd from bottom - the competition is tough.

Hi Sid, thanks for popping in to say you enjoyed their dance. We dont get too many compliments regarding their dancing, still i suppose every couple goes through a degree of negativity depending how long they stay in competition.
I would be a small bit worried about their Rhumba but Sophie is just going to have to forget her inhibitions and go for it if she wants to be a contender for the final. I wonder if she is very aware that her husband is in the audience - i hope he has a gig on Saturday!:D

Yes or put on babysitting duty!
Taking a step back from the competition side of things for a moment, I'm quite glad Sophie's got the Rhumba. In my view, the whole point of Strictly is to grow as a dancer and performer and you can only really do that by testing yourself and pushing yourself to do things you're uncomfortable with. This dance will be a big challenge, I'm curious (and a little scared, yes!) as to how it'll go. Brendan seems very optimistic on Twitter but I'm not sure how much to read into that because he tends to be that way about all the dances (and so he should be, to keep Sophie's spirits up and keep her motivated). We shall have to wait and see.
Thanks Karma for all the photos and training footage. I love seeing stuff like this:)
I didnt think their training footage looked too bad and i think her dress will look fab on her - love the colour. So all Sophie has to do is forget shes in front of millions and pretend she is in love with Brendan with her husband sitting in the audience - easy!:D

Your welcome bb.:) I love it too, the pics and footage, they can be a bit crafty with what they show on ITT, so nice to see a bit more footage and hopefully get a better impression of the dance and progression of Sophie.
Brendan spoke the truth, and I would far rather see a beautiful, emotive rumba that they danced than a raunchy one.
Back after Dr Who.
I was very surprised by the judges comments - harsh. Thought Sophie really got into the dance this week, so I felt for them both, with those scores.:( Sohie looked crestfallen.

Let's hope Sophie is there so we see that fantastic Charleston again!

Sophie looks lovely
Yes, couldn't see her wrapped in a sheet somehow, much better for her to be individual.
