Oh darn it! I forgot to do Finland and Albania :( (I would have ultimately changed the winner in Finland as well, but I guess I shouldn't mention that should I mein host? )

Will do Malta now, I had the songs on repeat for a month, so don't need long on that one, will take a bit longer with Switzerland..

Oh Anne, don't tell me you were going for Hukka ja Mama?

    :cry::cry:

    Sorry about that!

I know, it's quite a quick turn around but I'm playing catch-up. The last one started in December so we could be a bit more leisurely.

Wouldn't have got my maximum points, but would have got a few more than Mikko ... should I call my taxi now?

Hope to make up for it with my Maltese votes - I just loved 8 of their songs, so it was a very easy choice!

May I ask who would've got your max points then? (I thought you were rooting for Mikko) :)

I don't dislike Softengine, it just isn't the sort of stuff I listen to. I can see why others like it though.
Most of the stuff I like in Eurovision context isn't stuff I'd normally listen to :D
Softengine might be one of the few exceptions, though.

Don't forget., votes are still open for Malta and Switzerland (although I suspect this will remain relatively quiet this evening...)

I'm the sole Lauri lover on the thread  His voice is just so amazing, could almost forgive him that red suit :D

You've until 8ish tonight to send your votes in.

Also, I'll be hopping Iceland and Latvia tonight. This is your chance to set right the wrongs of a Latvian public who I've since assumed collectively misdialled for Olga un Ligo and accidentally gave sodding Cake To Bake the win.

Luckily for Katrine Lukins, she'll be judged on her semi-final performance instead of the car crash during the final, seeing as LTV have erased all knowledge of it on youtube! :D

I liked the Finnish NF :(

The Maltese final, on the other hand, was the most painful one so far!

    Maltese NF Results

I hope you've stocked up on Roc Travel vouchers and some Debenhams brand cosmetics, because it's results time. Despite having a population of just 74, Malta somehow manage to put on National Finals so sprawling they make Melodifestivalen look like an internal selection. Since Sunday, you've been voting for your favourites and I'm about to reveal the results. I'll be calling the results 14-3, with the final two heading into the Super Final (whatever that is)

    Here we go...

    3rd-14th

3rd: Brand New Day (Davinia) 56 Points
4th: Coming Home (Firelight) 54 Points
5th: Some Kind of Wonderful (Wayne William) 41 Points
6th: Let The Sunshine In (Sophie) 37 Points
    7th: Hypnotica (Jessika) 33 Points
8th: Until We Meet Again (Deborah C) 25 Points
9th: One Last Ride (Daniel Testa) 22 Points
    10th: Lovetricity (Christabelle) 13 Points
11th: City Lady (Ryan Paul Abela) 12 Points
12th: Because I Have You (Amber) 12 Points
13th: Oblivion (Chris Grech) 12 Points
14th: Love Will Take Me Home (Franklin) 8 Points

Bit of a shock here as Barlow & Sons crash out in 4th place (no chance to use the awesome new version at our Alt Contest), as does Davinia (who was leading the pack after the first few votes but was soon overtaken.) Slightly less surprising is Franklin failing to make double figues. That song is just the worst.

So, it's down to real life top-twoer De Bee and Euro Balladeer Pamela. The winner, and going to Copenhagen, is....

    WINNER

1st Place: Take Me (Pamela) 76 Points
2nd Place: Pin In The Middle (De Bee) 63 Points

So Pamela clinches it with a 13 point lead and De Bee, remains, ever the bridesmaid.
I had a feeling her typical Euroballad might prove popular on here.

    REPRISE

Stay tuned (if you dare) for Switzerland....

I gave Mr Stalker Restraining Order a couple of points as well, and was responsible for half of Franklin's score, but I was starting to get desperate after my top 4.

    Switzerland NF Final

Here we are in glorious Switzerland and it's time for another reveal. This was definitely a step-back in time for Eurovision, with a cheesy pop anthem or two about global harmony, a Francophone ballad and a demented whistler forming the bulk of the songs (not to mention some frankly marvellous Italian rockabilly.)

Same format as Malta, I'll be revealing 6-3 with the Top 2 remaining a mystery for a little longer...

6th: Une terre sans vous (Natacha & Stéphanie) 29 Points
5th: I Still Believe (Yasmina Hunzinger) 30 Points
4th: Au Paradis (Christian Tschanz) 32 Points
3rd: La luce del cuore (Nino Colonna) 48 Points

    No surprises as yet.

It was a total wipeout for the Fench songs as they leave us in 6th and 4th, and despite at one point looking like he might clinch a spot in the Top 2, Nino has to settle for Bronze. I'm surprised more of you didn't go for Yasmina... perhaps you were all Balladed out after Pamela?!

Anyway, SebAlter and 3 For All. The song representing Switzerland at Eurovision is...

    Winner

1st Place: Hunter of Stars (SebAlter) 90 Points
2nd Place: Together Forever (3 For All) 58 Points

It was a pretty one sided affair in Switzerland. SebAlter cruises into victory with a 32 point lead over his nearest competitor, and books a place in Copenhagen. 3 For All who, let's face it probably won't be Together Forever and are more than likely splitting after tonight, make up the Top 2 (albeit very distantly)

    Reprise

So Pamela and SebAlter are the next two artists to make the Contest. Stay tuned for Icelandic and Latvian playlists...

3 For All were my preference. A thumping dance track and accordions, what's not to love! :D

    12 - 3 For All - Together Forever
8 - Natacha & Stéphanie - Une terre sans vous
    6 - Yasmina Hunzinger - I Still Believe
    4 - SebAlter - Hunter of Stars
1 - Nino Colonna - La luce del cuore
