Oh! Greg wins! Didn't know that was on at all, was probably hidden away in the ad breaks! Now has the unique grand slam of all possible titles, good for him. Would be nice if he could get a sponsor now.
Odd they didn't show much of this at all especially as it was a good competition by all accounts with the lead changing hands a few times.
Always annoys me as well that Eurosport never show anything of the events that are on before the main programme.
Oh and after dropping him surprisingly after 2012 Nike came crawling back to Greg earlier this year so he does have a sponsor now, he's been wearing the Nike kit all season
I see there's talk of having more European only distance races to help improve standards. The one thing that bothers me though is will these races have more value than global ones? I'm not sure about this because I remember the proposal to have global races where only European athletes got prize money. It was rejected of course but should never have been promoted in the first place. http://www.european-athletics.org/news/article=hansen-looks-kick-start-european-endurance-renaissance/index.html
Schippers, Felix and Rutherford are among the names set to compete in the Great North CityGames on 12 September. There's also another Browne v Peacock duel in the men's T44 100m - unlike most of the other competitors, those guys are preparing for their season's raison d'être.
We're near the end of another outdoor track season, but the autumn road season is just getting underway. The Great North Run will take place on 13 September.
In Athletics Weekly, Ndiku admitted that he wasn't fully fit in the 5000m but he thinks that he can run the finish out of Mo next year. Said unfit Mo wouldn't race him last year.

Maybe so, but Mo was the only racer on his coat-tails with 100 to go in that race (Ndiku's penultimate 200 was rather aggressive). In all the other global 5,000s since 2011, Mo led a somewhat larger group at that same point in the race.
Given his championship credentials from last year, Ndiku has good reason to believe Mo won't be out of reach in Rio. If you enter a race not believing you can win, chances are you've already lost.

I think when you look at all Mo's rivals, Ndiku is his closest challenger. He's quite a character. He doesn't do quiet and humble like most Kenyan runners so he may have the self belief that's needed. Paula said Ndiku was the only other athlete who could be pleased with that race.
Sharp has broken 1:58 a couple of weeks too late in Berlin - still, a PB of 1:57.71 over 800m (which she also won) is nothing to be sniffed at! She's now third on the all-time British list.

Controversially not picked for Beijing, @AndyVernonGB is fifth in Berlin 5000m with 13:25.52, beating Worlds 8th-placer Isiah Koech.
I actually burst out laughing when I saw that tweet Did they watch the same race as me? Why are they trying to spin what was a poor performance. You could spin that tweet another way and say Andy Vernon finished 5th, behind World's 14th placed Richard Ringer of Germany, who finished 7 seconds ahead of Vernon today with a time of 13:18. That's right, Vernon finished 7 second behind the bloke who finished second last in the 5k in Beijing.
- Vernon was off screen after the 5th lap and finished a whooping 17 seconds behind the winner. Paul Koech. (13.08 was the winning time)
- The runner up, Hassan Mead, finished 15 seconds ahead of Vernon with a time of 13:10. Perspective, Mead was lapped by Mo in the 10k in Beijing and finished 1 min and 15 seconds behind Mo.
- Vernon also finished 8 seconds behind third placed Bernard Legat, who failed to qualify for the US team in the trials in July
I fully expected Vernon to do well today and prove the selectors wrong but he was poor today. In an even paced race, with good pace makers, he struggled to stay with the lead pack.
.
Ayana's victory in the women's 5,000m (with a CR to boot) has been voted as the performance of Beijing 2015. It was a magnificent run, but I thought that honour would go to Eaton for his second decathlon WR - oh well.
Tufa has pulled out of the Great North Run due to fatigue, which isn't a surprise since she was in the WCh marathon barely a week ago.
Schippers vs Thompson vs Felix. Highly anticipated. Who will come out on top? Jodie also in this race, along with McGrone and Tarmoh. All it needs is Dina.
CJ is in the men's 100m final. Makwala is down for the non-diamond men's 200m. Bolt's replacement? It looks like Gatlin, who is also running the 100m.
If Lavillenie is beaten by Filipidis, he will lose the diamond to him. He's the only athlete to win the diamond every year since it began. But he no-heighted in Berlin on Sunday...
No Rudisha in the diamond men's 800m but Kiprop is listed.
Diamond race leader Bershawn Jackson listed for the 400m hurdles after his nightmare in Beijing. Will he win? World champion Nicholas Bett also goes in his FIRST diamond race.
Men's triple jump should be a good one - both Taylor and Pichardo can win the diamond and we've seen how they perform when head to head. If Taylor wins he's surely one of the top picks for male athlete of the year. Along with Yego who goes in the javelin but can't win the diamond unless he wins and Vesely doesn't turn up.

Full provision entry lists here. Quite a few people doing both Brussels and Newcastle.

Who I gather is presently attempting to eat her own body weight in cake, pizza, chocolate etc. and contemplating a return to university, and good luck to her in her endeavour as she deserves it.
On the contrary, she's realised it won't die down and has given the response to the newspaper story that she should have done earlier.
Yes, she's been forced to come clean now. Wonder if she'll release her blood test results now that she's described them. I don't think she could have won either way. The media will be all over this judging by the length of the Mail Online's first story. http://dailym.ai/1UEjsM4

She have to through it will be something that unless further tests come out or people confess will never be able to be resolved.
Does anyone know what abonomailites there is in her blood tests. I imagine many cases are much more severe than others.

One guy who really impressed me was shubenkov

Glad she's doing that - hopefully she'll get the Olympic Qualifying out of the way which will take the pressure off the start of next season

Talk is cheap...;)
There was a big Beijing hangover going on in Zurich it seems. Not surprising really. Some of the stars looked very tired.

A pity Daphne wasn't in the line up. Who the third best female 100m runner is at the moment.
It's also a Scottish record.
Live results for ISTAF Berlin are available here.
