I bought a couple of the confetti effects but it has taken me near enough half an hour to remove it this morning, I had to use a flannel. Any tips would be greatly received.:)
Foil method! Bit of nail varnish remover on cotton wool, place on nail, wrap nail tightly in a bit of foil, do to all ten and sit down with a cup of tea for fifteen minutes, then remove foil and wipe off polish. Easy peasy.
I'm getting worse with polish, I'm really getting into nail art, and watched a fair few videos on you tube, I tried my first gradient last week and I am so pleased with it. Today going to try to marble, now that will be messy lol

Now that makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much.:D

What happened to your blog Beth? Did you change your mind?
On the other hand, this week I've been trying out loads of 2true polishes, and they're excellent! I had no idea! I think I'd avoided them because they're a 'cheapy' Superdrug own brand, but the ones I've tried have been really good. http://elanorsnails.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/2true-pro-naomi-and-purple-silver.html < most recent post on these.

I'm not that keen on the Models Own velvet collection either. I'm not that keen on "tactile" nail polishes anyway, I prefer a glossy feel.
I got a question
When you paint your nails do you paint them right to the edges?
My mum had a makeup artist round the other day and she didn't paint the nails right to the edges, so is it better to paint them this way? Or should you paint right to the edges?
What looks best?
As in right to the cuticle? I paint almost to the edge, and clean up if any spills. Most nail bloggers I follow do leave a clean line (obvious in macro shots, not so obvious in real life) around the cuticle, just because it's neater. I think a lot of nail techs do too - if it's not touching the cuticle then it's a smooth finish and no bobbly bits on the skin that a) need cleaning up and b) stand up from the nail.
I paint as close as I can without touching the cuticle, if I can help it. But it's pretty much almost all the way over. My gap is more round the end of my nail.
Ok thanks. Yeah I don't want it to be too obvious.
Next time I paint my nails I will try not to get any on my cuticles. I tend to get paint on my fingers sometimes, it's so annoying.
Just in case anyone is interested Poundworld have OPI Shatters in just now. Got an link from facebook from one of the magazine pages advertising it. Think it is probably sheer luck what colours you will get if any are left. I managed to get the green and the purple and they also had black and mines is a pretty small store so bigger stores might have more range of colours if they aren't gone already.
Had hoped to pick up a silver shatter as well but happy enough getting 2 out of the 3 I wanted and well I guess any OPI at £1 a bottle is not to be sniffed at. Been pretty quiet on the polish front lately although have picked up a few Nails Inc sets in TX Maxx and got the Nails Inc London set from QVC.
Also just remembered a deal in Boots if you buy the Colgate Max White One toothpaste its 3.99 a tube you get a free bottle of red Nails Inc with it just now. You can choose from either a cream or metallic version of the red called Luminous Red. Wasn't so keen on the cream version but did get the metallic one haven't tried it yet but love it in the bottle.
I've just counted - I have 48 different nail varnishes, including 8 golds, 6 pinks, 5 reds, 5 blues, 5 silvers... they're all very slightly different, but I'm thinking maybe it's excessive? Should I be worried?
Erm, dare I say it.
When you have about 150:o
When hubby catches me looking at any in the shops or on QVC he always says there are no colours that I haven't got, men they just don't understand do they:D
I have bought 9 bottles this week! In my defence though, I haven't bought any at all since early September. And I've got some real stunners, so it's allowed.
Oh! I just went to add the new ones to my spreadsheet, and I found several I'd forgotten to add earlier... so I started going through all my polish and making sure it was all on the sheet. And it wasn't, not by a long way. So while I thought I had an ok total of 260 ish, I actually have over 300 so far, and that's only by going through half my collection for missing ones. So I'm guessing I probably have about 330. Oh dear.
I buy false nails from Boyes I. Little boxes. I paint them when I get a new polish and if I want to mix them up a it I try the effect out on one of the falsies first before doing my own.
Just in case anyone's interested... the December issue of Glamour has full size Nails Inc polishes in them (they are Kate Spade ones - not sure if they are limited edition or something). They are full size and there are four to collect, I've got Uptown Glamour.
You also get either a £3/15/100 voucher for The Body Shop in the magazine - not bad for £2.
Edit: Another magazine had Orly polishes in as well, not sure which one it was though, think it had Miley Cyrus on the front - maybe Cosmopolitan?
Cosmo has the orly..I had a look at the kate spade ones on Glamour, not really feeling any of the colours, though I kind of like the goldish looking one.
After I gave up nail varnish for lent I did a massive multicoloured piece on my nails, that just stayed on for 2 weeks since it took me so bloody long..then a few colours I missed but I got bored...and when I went to africa for just over a month I did my nails just twice....BUT the new lots of barry m have piqued my interest again. I love countess and majesty, and the berry cosmo, but there are more I want to get. Been thinking about what I want to do and buy next ^_^

Has anyone tried - and liked - the Models Own Velvet Goth collection? I tried the black one, and urgh! It's quite ugly!

So I'd say a very tiny gap is pretty common, but not a very obvious one.
