    It needed to happen. With Sonia / Rebecca back the character couldn't be ignored. Also adds to Ian family set up.

    Obviously James Alexandrou was never going to return since he gave them go ahead to recast Martin, I don't mind it really. At least we'll have a Fowler on-screen for the 30th.

    well this makes sense, Sonia and Rebecca couldn't really keep popping back without any sign of Martin, I wonder if they will all move in with Carol, she is rattling around in that house with not much to do at the moment

    I'm so not sure about this, James's Martin is more identifiable to the show and appeared on screen with most of the now deceased Fowler family.

    James Alexandrou and Martin didn't make as much of a big impact as the other Fowlers, no one will be to fussed he's been recast, James Alexandrou was hardly Susan Tully, and Wendy Richard etc... :P

    I hope so! At the end of the day if they get good storylines it won't really matter, I'm not too arsed about the recast, i started watching just weeks before he left, but I can see why some people are annoyed, because they watched him for so long:D Robert Sugden from Emmerdale has just been recast, it isn't an absolute disaster, but it would be if it was Michelle or someone!

    Using that logic, Martin hasn't been a Fowler since 1996, which was he was first recasted with James Alexandrou taking on the role.
