Robin mustn't be aware of her performance background then ... obviously she's never had to perform infront of a TV audence the size of DOI so that must be nerve racking but she's not a novice at performing (singing, dancing and acting) .. and she's definitely a stage performer as there was an article a while ago where she said she was bullied at school because she tended to get the lead roles in school productions and she's stared in a number of professional panto's (staring alongside the likes of Steven Gateley and Steve Guttenburg .. going as far back as 2005 ..
So all this no acting/performance experience is basicaly untrue and I'm not sure I believe that Robin's not aware of it
I don't see why Robin would deliberately ignore this. It's not exactly high profile stuff & her main job is as a TV presenter. I suspect Robin has better things to do with his time than google for background on all of the contestants.

He wouldn't have to google, I would imagine the judges get biogs on all the celebs before the beginning of the show ...
This is of course your opinion. Not the judges. Not the voting public. And not the majority of reasonable people on this forum......
Am I overeacting? Maybe I am. I'm still upset about the fall.
I think that anyone who supports Sam or Laura should be gracious given that their boy/girl did so well. I would be if it was me.
There are some of us gracious supporters out there of the other contestants Admittedly I would like Laura to win in the final, but I really don't see the need to have digs at Chloe about anything, especially over what happened last weekend. That fall was beyond her control as it was caused by Michael and I think she coped really well and recovered quickly enough. I'm really happy that Chloe made it to the finals and if Laura cannot win, then I would really like to see Chloe take the title She's had some lovely routines and would be just as worthy a winner.

Exactly .. I would have thought that all the people involved behind the scenes regarding training and judging would be aware of the contestants experience (not saying every detail regarding specifics like dates and particular shows but I would have thought they would have been aware of any experience the contestants have that's relevant to the show)
and you don't have to put much effort into googling for the info as it's mentioned on most of Laura's online bios/sites
I certainly wouldn't accuse him of lying but he might feel that Laura's past experience ( eg panto's ) isn't relevent in the context of skating in front of a live audience and so gloss over it in order to highlight his point. Who knows?
All I'm saying is I heard him say she had no experience in performance and it turns out she does actually have a fair bit.
Aside from biogs the celebs and judges will socialise in the green room, there will be prod meetings with the judges and I would think that Robin in the interest of knowing his sport would make it his business to find out what he can about the contestants backgrounds. By the semi final I think it's unlikely he wouldn't know she had appeared on stage a few times at the very least......
who knows .. perhaps he isn't aware, perhaps he is but has forgotten or perhaps he is and is choosing for some reason not to acknowledge it .. nobody but him knows that
but the point is that what he said in the interview is obviously false information

There's still a lot of assumptions here. Maybe the judges don't get loads of biogs on the contestants & maybe they even have a completely open mind at the start of each series about all of the contestants and just judge on what they see each Sunday night.

Maybe and I hope so but I'd bet money on them getting biogs. This is a tv show and the judges would look pretty stupid if they were sat there at the start of the series having no clue of who some of the celebs were or what their names were .... which is quite possible given the C list status of many of the 'stars' ....

of course that may be true .. but if Robin is making judgements on how good people are considering their lack of stage performance experience when in truth they do actualy have a fair bit of stage performance experience it would perhaps be beneficial in the future if he's made aware of what experience the contestants have so that he doesn't talk b*ll*cks in interviews
By the way I thought that Laura did a really good solo skate anyway ... but for Robin to state in his prase of it that one of the things that impressed him about it was that she has no stage performance experience is rather misleading to the listener

Does look that way ... does annoy me when they do that and take the audience for fools

Yes, my thoughts too.:D

I agree, a lot of assumptions and no facts.
