After a few 420 rallies cannabis is still illegal..

Does anyone think standing in a field smoking joints is a waste of time? Ive heard some people go to this rally today and got arrested for puffin. I feel that if cannabis is to be legalized it needs a different approach because it seems these events each year are a waste of time.

Whats your views.

    You may have a point.

But not a good idea to light up spliffs in this rainy and windy weather, they must have been trying to light up every second.

Interestingly, the ACMD have recently said that they've given up advising the government about cannabis since the government never listen.

There's a report about it here.

I dont smoke it I think it would be good if it was legalized in a way because those who take it to ease pain or just relax are not harming anyone. I just think that if the organizers of this 420 protested outside Downing Street it will make more of a noise than standing in a field and getting arrested. If anything its making things look worse for people who smoke it with hundreds standing in Hyde Park puffing away.

    See the pictures.

On Easter Sunday hundreds of people from around the world met up in Hyde Park to celebrate, smoke blunts and socialise at the annual Pro 420 Cannabis Rally 2014 held in London. The day is an organized protest in favor of cannabis legalization.

The London 420 Cannabis Rally is the largest cannabis event of the year in England and is commonly known as the “420 Day”. The 420-Day began as an American pro-cannabis movement, but in recent years has become a de facto worldwide "pot-smoking day".

There's enough of a problem with drunk drivers on the roads. Not sure we need spliffed-up ones joining the party! :D

    Interesting.
Looking at the pictures I expected to see some Rastafarians and people of all different ethnicity but all I see is white hippy europeans.

So don't make driving under the influence of cannabis, any more legal than driving under the influence of ethanol.

If someone smokes in their home, or eats it, or whatever, what harm is there to third parties?

I have no problem with the legalisation of cannabis as I smoked it every day for over 20 years, but since knocking it on the head five years ago my apathy is gone and my earnings have more than doubled. It may be a coincidence, but given many of my compatriots still partaking are either in low earning dead end jobs, or are on the dole trying to bring up a family, I have to question whether it is as cool as it is made out to be.

Make it legal and it could become less cool.

    Good.

All they're proving is their disregard for the law. Which I know is their point but why listen to those, that can't follow society's rules?

I've always believed its a good idea to have a completely open market, so those that want to abuse drugs can. Once they start dropping off, they'll be the example as to why we have sanctions.

There will always be a queue to legalise illegal drugs. As soon as you legalise something, the demand will be to legalise the next in the queue.

You have to draw a line somewhere and stick with it.

It's not all that exciting either. It just makes me a bit light headed and tired. When I've been really, really stoned like at a party when younger, I just fell asleep.

Drugs really are for mugs. Waste of money when plenty of things like sex or sport can make you feel even more amazing. Things that incidentally, drug taking takes the edge off and makes you too lazy to do.

To be fair, alcohol is not a good substitute either, but at least with that, most people remain functional throughout the day.

That might be a joke. If you read their profile. And also I've always assumed they're male (but I have no photographic proof of such :D )

I was at an EDM festival last month (Future in Sydney) I tried to get everyone involved in a nice game of 20,000 aside football but everyone seemed to be loving the music and each other whilst on E.

    The idiots.
