It's two events a year, that raise a lot of money. I never understand the issue with them

Theres some miserable bastards in this world. But as long as we outnumber them we should be ok with giving money to starving children and homeless and sick people. :D

The BBC has charity on its airwaves every week of the year
    Starting in 1923 .... http://www.bbc.co.uk/charityappeals/about/about.shtml

It's, 2 evenings a year. You have a remote and hundreds of other channels and you could go out. Or are you an invalid?

Why not have a week of BBC Aid so they can get yet
more money for executive jets and employ yet more
people to fly around the world and stay in expensive hotels

dont you realize that the BBC is one gigantic scam ?
the biggest gravy train the world has ever seen
and you are paying for it with your BBC tax

The licence fee is another matter altogether.

How anyone can object to them devoting a bit of time to raise money for charity is a mystery to me.

Noel Edmonds has recently said that he is ready
to head a consortium of businessmen who are ready
to buy up the BBC should the government give the go ahead for privatisation .

    Lets do it !

And yet all of the entertainment provided on these evenings is better than the usual Friday night offerings whilst raising money. What's not to like?

Of all the things people complain about regarding the BBC, their charity involvement shouldn't really be on the list.

Sorry missed that one off the listings. BBC Aid is on August 29th.

All I can see is that a campaign has raised £17 odd million so far. EVIL BBC!!!!!!!

Sport Relief and Comic Relief are 'the same thing'. They run on alternate years.

Therefore as someone has pointed out.. it's only two nights a year..

Having said that, does Children in Need even run every year?

    Either way it's not much!

These charity events are much better for helping the poor and needy than government hand outs could ever be.

    Grow up, OP.
