Catflap tunnels

Hello,

I'm having replacement windows and doors fitted soon and I'm considering putting a catflap tunnel through the wall rathert than having a catflap fitted to a double glazed unit.

All 3 of my cats are very happy and comfortable using the catflap has anyone had any experience of using a tunnel ?

It'll be through a 9 inch wall, more or less where it used to be.

If you're worried about the cats not liking the tunnel, why not make one out of cardboard and attach it to your current flap - see how they cope (I'm sure they'll love it actually, cats like playing in short tunnels!)

We had a tunnel through a conservatory cavity wall & the cat was fine with it.

For logistical reasons, I've got a tunnel around 17" long. I think as long as the cat can literally see light at the end of the tunnel -- i.e. a way out -- then they are fine.
