IPTV Ipad apps

Apart from the individual branded apps ie Iplayer, 4oD, Deamnd 5, Orf (!), sky etc ....... anyone found any other interesting IPTV apps for their ipad?

Thanks .... yes I have those.

I was thinking more of a managed site loading up all of these new cheaper entry sources .... but also perhaps an app that consolidates cross boarder IPTV so a single app where perhaps you select a language or country and then find all known sources within your choice.

Problem is most broadcast TV is country locked, so a global app would not work. Although you could have one for CNN, Bloomberg or CNBC offering all the different global versions.

4oD is pretty much useless now that they blocked Airplay - ok, you can still watch on the iPad, but that was nowhere near as useful as getting 4oD onto a proper television that Airplay offered.

ABC (from Australia) have a good iPad app. It offers better quality than what they stream to a PC for some reason and lots of nice stuff on there. Requires some sort of geo(un)blocking to work, but that's pretty easy to sort out.

RTE are also pretty good and like ABC, offer full proper Airplay. (none of this stupid mirroring that is required by iPlayer, ITV and Channel5). Like ABC though, you need to unblock the geoblock.

Overplay is a pretty good service for unblocking different nations services. They cover pretty much every country you could think of - at least ones with iPad apps for their On Demand TV. You may need to create multiple iTunes accounts though to get to specific stores to download certain apps. i.e. if you want US specific TV apps, they may only be in the US iTunes store. But that is pretty easy to do.

The best App I use is FB (FileBrowser), it allows wonderfully fast and easy streaming of personal video files on a remote computer or NAS. I store my videos on a NAS and this will seamlessairly Airplay it in HD over to the TV. The app will work perfectly in the background, so someone can also surf on the iPad or switch it off and it will still work. And unlike most other video playing apps, I can delete the videos after watching.

There are other apps out there that, like Filmon, will play a selection of live broadcasts from different countries, but every one I have tried are seriously crap. They either have terrible quality feeds, are unreliable, or just countries which would never interest me. Only FilmOn and TVCatchup work from my experience and FilmOn is the only one of those two with more than UK TV.

The ORF TVthek app for iPad seems pretty good for Austrian TV - a bit like iPlayer and some live streaming. Not sure if any content is geo-blocked.
