Outlook Express/Firefox Problem, advice really appreciated :)

Hi, I was wndering if anyone could help me, this is driving me crazy!

I use Outlook Express for my emails, and for some reason in the past few days it has completely stopped opening links. I can't think of anything that has happened to the computer for this to happen at all.

Normally they will open in a new tab on Firefox, but no more :(

Ihave googled a bit but any suggestions have not worked unfortunately.

Thank you so much for any advice :)

    Have you run a virus/spyware check?

    It's a bit of a shoe-in solution, but have you tried Thunderbird? I use it on both Windows and Linux, and it's the dog's knick-knacks it really is.

    There's also the option of downloading Windows Live Mail which is the replacement for Outlook Express.

    I've not tried that i'll look into it, but I tried to get it to work with IE and that wouldn't work either, so I think it's outlook :(

    I've been having similar problems - have you downloaded anything recently? With me it was IE8, once this was uninstalled hey presto Outlook was performing normally.

    What have you tried so far? There's not much point people suggesting things if you've already tried them...

    This one:

    Windows 98/2000/XP

    To make web pages open again when you click links in emails using Windows XP and earlier:

    * Make sure neither Outlook Express nor Internet Explorer are open.
    * Select Control Panel from the Start menu.
    * Click Internet Options.
    o If you do not see Internet Options right away, click Network and Internet Connections before.
    * Go to the Programs tab.
    * Make sure Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser is checked.
    * Click OK.
    * Close Internet Explorer.
    * Re-open Internet Explorer.
    * Click Yes when asked Internet Explorer asks "Internet Explorer is not currently your
    default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?"
    o If Internet Explorer does not ask:
    o Close Internet Explorer
    o Select My Computer from the Start menu.
    o Choose Tools | Folder Options... from the menu.
    o Go to the File Types tab.
    o Highlight (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol.
    o Click Advanced.
    o Highlight open.
    o Click Remove.
    o Click Yes.
    o Click OK.
    o Now click Close.
    o Start Internet Explorer.

    What do you mean by "it won't let me"? What actually happens?

    It finally worked, but i've got the same problem with this as with Outlook Express, links just will not open, I get an error message saying:

    "The parameter is incorrect"

    This is really frustrating now!

    Anyone know what to do? :)
