Sorry if a thread has already been started on this, but I couldn't find one.

Is it me, or does anyone else look at the trailer and think - Alan Partridge - Knowing Me, Knowing Yule? It's the log cabin that does it. :o:D

Seems to be a lot of talking. And already an ad break.

Why is Dawn French on it?

20 minutes in and not one shot of the audience. Wonder if there is one?

Is this the set that Ant and Dec special used a few years ago?

It's like a bad version of a Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra Christmas Special

Yes he is miming all of it. Even the bits where he was singing to Dawn French, laughing and talking a bit.

What's with the bobbing while they're singing. Are they both desperate for the toilet?

I know :D, so can Gary Barlow

Why does he always do that thing where he pulls the microphone far away from his mouth when he sings a loud note?

It's called having a good voice .... In today's world of xfactor bollox and auto tune .... There is still talent in the world !!!

I also wondered whether he was miming... half the time he is about two meters away from the mic and yet he still sounds the same.

Definitely singing to backing tracks, at least...

Does anybody think that he looks slightly like Brian Dowling?

The sort of thing Val Doonican was doing 30 years ago and Perry Como and Andy Williams 40 years ago, and no bad thing a programme like that on at this time of year.

Just wonder why it is on at this time on a Sunday, rather than say 8pm this Wednesday or Thursday?

It is just the songs from his new Christmas album.

I like Buble a lot, and I do think there's a market for a cosy old-fashioned show like this, but it's not quite doing it for me. Can't put my finger on what's wrong with it just yet.
