    Annie (the remake)

really expected to not like it as Annie (the original) is a classic but I found it surprisingly enjoyable

far too much cheesy singing in it but not as bad as I had anticipated or expected :)

    Locke (2013) - 7/10

Nice idea for a film and I enjoyed it a lot. Tom Hardy gave a great performance but his Welsh accent was a bit off at times and took a bit of getting used to.

    Amy (2015) - 9/10

Very sad but also very well made, it's surprising how much of her life was caught on camera by her friends, even before she was famous. I really recommend this to everyone, even people that aren't a fan of Amy.

    Horror Express (1972) 8/10
A cheaply made film starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing,
as a pair of mismatched university Professors,on a long train journey
    across China in 1906.
    Lee,an archeologist,has uncovered a homo sapiens/ape fossil that
is locked safely inside a stout metal crate.Unfortunately, the 'fossil'
is still alive, and seems bent of feeding from the brains of anyone
it encounters. It 'wipes' their brains, absorbing all their knowledge
and memories, leaving them with blank white eyes and smooth
brains, when the head is opened for post mortem examination!
Telly Savalas makes a ten minute guest appearance as a Russian
Commisar, and chews the scenery wonderfully for his short stint!
This story is in direct line of sucession from John W Campbell's
'Who Goes There' (Later filmed as 'The Thing' by John carpenter)
and H.P.Lovecraft's superb 'At The Mountains Of Madness'.
Good fun if you like cheap, but well done horror, and can be viewed
    in its entirity on YouTube!

    a lot, since i was BAAAAAAAAAANED ^_^

    THE THREE STOOGES - 8HALF/10
slapstick schmucks torn straight out of the original serials, quite funny too, and very well played by the three leads

    THE PLAYER - 9/10
classy psychodrama with some movie stuff going on in the background

CINDERELLA ELLA ELLA ELLA - 7/10
classy but simple real life animation of the classic, that has terrific production values, but lacks that "spark", also not enough helena bonham carter! it can also be a bit jarring too, but highlight includes THAT DRESS!

    SEVENTH SON - 3/10
holy crap this movie is TERRIBLE!

every line ..... and i MEAN every line ..... there's no sense to them, everything is so god damn humourless, random events ..... and with THE blandest lead i've ever seen!

vanilla ice cream has more carisma and personality than this guy!

only the effects and jeff bridges are even WORTH IT in this disaster

    LOST RIVER - 7/10
welcome to ryan gosling's college art project!

there's a story buried deep underneath this, but it would take multiple viewings to understand it, in this homage to THE SHINING .....

    but it's beautifully shot

    JACK AND THE BEANSTALK (2010) - 7HALF/10
cheap and cheerful little fairy tail, nice for a sunday afternoon sitdown

    SAFETY NOT GUARENTEED - 8/10
nicely gentle little tale of that famous local paper advert, inviting someone to go time travelling with them

Home - Surprised by the negative reviews because I thoroughly enjoyed this. The Rihanna overload was overload was a but much though. Probably my favourite Dreamworks animation since the original Shrek.

    8/10

Mortdecai - I always felt Johnny Depp was given far too much credit as a dramatic actor (even though I love the guy), especially by those demanding him to make some sort of 'comeback'. His eccentric roles are what make him IMO. Having said that, Mortdecai isn't a great movie by any means, though it does have its funny moments. I have no idea what Paul Bettany was trying to do however...

Just watched The Book Of Eli fascinating film, I guessed early on what the book was, but didn't catch the other twist until over halfway through the film.

    Even though he's a druggie,
Ryan Gosling's at his hottest in this. 8.5/10

    BREAKING DAWN PART 2 - 7half/10
just like the seattle weather, the final part of the epic girl meets vampire potboiler was like the rest of them ..... DULL ..... but a lovely end to it though, with all the characters getting their credit

oh and watched ..... THE WATCH again on channel4, still a daft boys movie, just don't feel the alien ooze :p

    Jackie Brown - 7/10

It could have been an 8/10 but the ending was slightly underwhelming and I don't know if it's a film with much repeat value.

    The Elephant Man (1980)

A wonderfully moving film with an outstanding performance by John Hurt as John Merrick.
It's filmed in black and white which gives you a greater sense of the grim industrial environment in Victorian times. A whole cast of great British actors in this classic must see film.

I still have a hard time with Farley Granger playing a baddie though.
