Actually it's not.

Every electronic device would eventually overheat if locked in a glass box!

Love the way thought they are to compare to the RROD of a certain system!

even if this was true, it would actually just demonstrate that a system has been put in place to prevent the RR/YL-OD problems actually bricking consoles.

As it is though, it just looks like a load of hit-baiting crap.

Exactly. It has a safety feature in place to prevent damage caused by overheating.

Besides, who would keep their console in a nice, hot glass case anyway?

I would be curious to see a hardware breakdown of the PS4 just to know how they have set-up the heat sinks and fans considering the size and cooling on the Xboxone that has a similarly powered CPU and apparently lesser powered GPU.

Curiously, the motherboard is upside down and the power supply is on the bottom.

As most people should know - heat rises. So to put the motherboard upside down means you need to push the heat down then back, so is an odd decision.

The shiny black part comes off and is where you replace the hard drive.

Under the hard drive is the Blu-ray drive.

Sony typically use long PSUs so assuming they do the same again I did this mock-up.

Depends on how the system vents hot air. Some gaming PSUs for example are located on the bottom of the Desktop Case however there is a fan at the top venting the warm air out.

Chances are the warm air is vented out the back before it touches the mobo.

I would care about a consoles ability to cool itself, looking at the reliability issues we had this generation especially with the ylod and rrod.

I mean the heat from the stuff on the mobo, not from the PSU.

Thanks for the information. It does seem a little bit of a strange way to set it up.

As far as I know on tower cases the PSU was moved to the bottom of the case to allow it to draw cool air directly into PSU to allow it to run cooler as it does not have to use air already heated up by everything else inside the tower.

If it does overheat thats good as I need another radiator in my room/office! Probably cheaper as well than the PC

I absolutely love your mockups, they make any mockup I make of anything look childish by comparison!
