Id love to know why some people get warned or banned for some posts and yet others get away with posting the same stuff again and again with nothing happening

There seems to be no consistency in the way some things are dealt with.

Very unfair imo

the moderation is proactive, the downside is that those least likely to alert are often still subject to alerts

I agree. I got banned for 2 weeks for telling a troll to F off. You can't even do a public service :mad:

Can only assume it's because the mods don't really have time to trawl through all the threads, so they have to rely on people alerting them to offensive threads or posts.

If they're not made aware of a thread/post, they can't do anything about it.

Do you mean that some people get repeated warnings but no ban, and other people get no warnings, but then get banned out of the blue? (This is a genuine question.)

I wonder if there is a scale of sorts, whereby some comments would be classed as worthy of a warning, but not a ban, and others would get an instant ban?

I was banned just over a week ago, and i have no clue why. I know for a fact i didn't break any rules. I was super nice that day.

If the moderator who banned me for 24 hrs last week sees this, can you explain why? Cos it really confused me.

You really should pm us with the reason when you impose the bans. How else are we supposed to "learn?"

I take it there is more than one mod? Maybe different mods have different standards about what is offensive. Plus they might be a little biased too and stick up for their mates. Hope I don't upset any of them by saying this :eek:

I was given a warning for being disrespectful to another member and my post was removed. But when another (different) member was equally respectful to me, no action was taken and their post remained on the board even after I complained.

They were made aware by me and others but still nothing done
