I'm really looking forward to this and I hope it's as good as the first one was. I've never seen a bad Lynda la Plante drama anyway.
Incidentally, Kelly Reilly was in Sherlock Holmes and I didn't enjoy her performance but she was great in the first Above Suspicion.

Kelly Reilly is about as convincing at playing a tough young Detective Constable as Danny La Rue would be at playing a nightclub bouncer. Ciarán Hinds' character was a complete cliche of grumpy cop conventions and the sexual tension between the two of them was just plain creepy. The thing that saved the first Above Suspicion was the performance of Jason Durr as the main suspect.
Agreed - normally I love Hinds and Reilly but couldn't stand them in the last AS and they spoiled it for me. At least Kelly Reilly did. She acted like a gauche schoolgirl - so wrong!!
Not sure I'll bother with this one or not...

I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the second part tomorrow night.
I enjoyed it. It had a different feel to it from the usual police dramas. I enjoyed it much more than the BBC's dreary Wallander last night, with its endless shots of corn fields.
May not be him but I'm sure it won't be a stranger. It'll be someone we've seen already in the series.;)
I have been looking forward to this for ages as I love the Anna Travis books and have read all five so far. It was a bit of a slow start but I felt that they were developing some of the characters (other than the police who were in the last one) because if they stay loyal to the book then it gets pretty gruesome. I can't see Lynda la Plante changing much of her own story that she has adapted from her own book though.
The only thing that puzzles me is Anna Travis' rank. On TV she is a DC but by this case she has moved up to DI. Just a minor thing though - maybe they wanted to keep her lower down the ranks so there are less comparisons to Prime Suspect.
He was 'the ghost' in 'The Turn of The Screw' over Xmas. He seems a bit dodgy in this as well.
I never saw the first one, and thought at first it was set in the eighties, I assume I was wrong and it's meant to be the present, judging from the flat screens etc? Or am I hopelessly out of date, tech wise?
Kelly Reilly is a quality actress, but I personally think she's just too good looking to play this part.
If I miss a programme of any kind I use the iplayer. Its a great way of catching up which I have done many many times.
I think that's, rather shamefully, the problem I had with her as well. I just didn't find her very believable in the role.
It held my attention for an hour though and I'll be back again tomorrow. Could have done with a bit more tension though.
It's not bad. I liked it better than Wallander, too...those darn cornfields took up half of the show.
The trailer for tonight reveals what I expected would happen, might skip it and tune in on Wednesday for the conclusion.
Does it even matter?
No - it's fine to have 5 threads on the same subject
