I don't know how well known this movie is outside Scandinavia. It is a stop motion picture released in 1975 made by Ivo Caprino. Don't let the age of the movie put you off, it looks absolutely great even today. The new blu-ray release is excellent! If you are interested in cars the race is really fun to watch. This movie inspired Christian Von Koenigsegg to make his car.
Story: Reodor Felgen is a cycle repairer. He is also an inventor. Mostly he creates things that can help him and his family in the everyday work. He had an apprentice though, Rudolfh Blodstrupmoen. He took off in a hurry and stole some drawings of an invention that could improve engines power. He later became a famous as a driver and won lots of races using this idea. Reodor Felgen gets persuaded by his friends to challenge him. But he has no money to build his car. But there is help not too far away, and the car is about to be materialized. If they can finish it the duel is inevitable. But there are certain guys that wants to stop the building of the car.
The movie is originally in Norwegian. But the new version has an english soundtrack. It also has english subtitles.
