The announcer afterwards confirmed he was dead. Saying something like go and see Steven Arnolds leaving video over at corrie.com.

Since Claire is married to Ashley then it doesn't matter she isn't his biological mother I'm pretty certain. Anyways, they've had enough drama, Claire and the boys should be able to grieve together. The funeral is gonna make me a wreck.

How about Dr Matt Smith comes back to see Claire in his Tardis, wants his son back, but Claire wants to go back and stop Ashley from getting killed. When Matt refuses, she kills him, then steals the Tardis to travel back before the tram crash. Then she stops Ashley going to the stag night by locking him in the cupboard, but then forgets that the house also goes on fire and he dies in the fire and explosion. Also because of this, Peter gets killed in the collapsing Viaduct which means the events that happened previously tonight never happened. Well did, just differently, and there is also a tribute to Peter on the website for Corrie.

The paradox is too much to handle and the entire earth is blown up and the Universe split in half, and Corrie ended. And Dr Carter is also revealed to be The Master who was behind it all and got Phil Collinson the job of producer.

HE is in fact THE DOCTOR! unless you are confusing him with the doctor who is in fact the doctor who is a really good doctor, or how about the other doctor?
