Just wanted to recommend that you all watch John and Edward's speech at the anti-bullying ambassadors event in Ireland. Edward hardly got a chance to speak but John was so passionate and vocal. It's the first time I think I've heard him talk in so much detail about bullying.
He was a bit all over the place but the jist of what he was saying came across. It's so true when he said every time you're bullied, you lose a part of yourself. Quite profound. Also interesting to hear him mention the late night comedians/celebrities. He said that they had all the jokes written in and they had to just stand there and take it (something like that anyway). Explains why they seemed to have put a stop to these shows.
From Edward- he mentioned that he hears girls say they are not wanted and it makes him feel...(he did look emotional but didn't get to finish his sentence). Think he is quite sensitive.
Also found it refreshing to hear them referred to as John and Edward and for John to refer to them as the same. I really feel they are so much more in control of their lives now despite not having the same level of success as a few years ago.
and the promised gigs in August/September smack of the Oz tour... a waste of time and money.
who in the world is advising J&E? Whoever it is, I wish that they would please stop.
Don't think the fans who are excited about the proposed September tour think it's a waste of time and money? And the Australian tour got them a lot of publicity over there...the Twins got a lot of out of it, enjoyed themselves, played venues that legendary artists had previously played at.
It's their time. It's their money. It's also their lives and their careers. They're doing very well for themselves. Why not sit back and enjoy them?
And I'm sorry but your inference that anyone could, or should advise them in terms of their career is actually beyond laughable. They're doing what they want to do. They're doing it how they want to do it.
Oh you asked me what my line of business is the other day. I'm a music writer. Have been for a number of years. I talk to "proper PR" people and music agents and musicians and managers every day. I know the Twins are doing alright because I know how other people are doing it. The music industry is changing and has been for quite some time, and like most things they do, John and Edward have smelt the changes and got there ahead of the pack.
I also think that they learned things from the OZ tour experience. It seemed like the airport tour was (at least partly) a market research exercise. Maybe they're going to use it to work out which countries to arrange concerts for, and what size venues will really be needed.

Yes exactly! It was likely very useful to see which countries had well-organised fanbases - the meets In Finland and Sweden, Germany, UK and Ireland were quite predictably well attended, but I suspect it was a very welcome surprise for the twins to see the turnout in Hungary, for example. The Polish visits were affected by location and timing - but there were still fans in Warsaw and Kraków. Most Polish Jedward fans live in the north of the country, but this information has come out post the airport tour.
Incidentally, "Leave A Mark" is now charting at number 3 in Lithuania. The Twins didn't visit the country, but I think they have a Twitter DM group? A concert there would possibly attract other fans from the Baltic region.
I love the Oh Hell No video and like that they're not afraid to experiment with different styles and genres of music. Using ignoramus in the lyric is genius and provides the Jedward touch.
With regard to advice I hope they do take some occasionally. After all, its possible to receive some well thought out and argued feedback gained from experience. The trick is knowing what advice is good and/or would work for you. I wouldn't expect them to ignore what Ed Sheeran suggested but I would understand if they ignored my idea to partake of Afternoon Tea:D
Interesting! I see Calvin Harris has performed there as well, perhaps he's been advising them?
They've had lots of credible bands there - was Kasbian one? Looks a decent legit venue. Can't be any worse than the early PAs they did and perhaps they want to get back to grassroots and start again to attract a wider, younger audience.

The only advice the twins ever act on is their own.
They do what whey want, when they want and that's how they like it.
They told me that when they invited me round for dinner once, or did I just pick that up from observing them from a distance all these years?
