The majority of the song choices Kelly made for Janet were pretty subpar, but 'I Want You Back' and especially 'MMMBop' take the crown for absolutely terrible song choices.
Janet actually chose both those songs both of them weeks. Ps; The week she sang I want you back she actually topped the vote and the previous 3 weeks. Also the only week Kelly picked the song for janet was the 1st week, also week 4 neither Kelly or Janet chose the song.
Really? Well, then she picked some subpar songs for herself I guess. This thread is about bad song choices during the live shows, so it doesn't matter who picked the song.
Well she did top the vote the most out of all the contestants, so the song choices mustn't been as subpar as people are suggesting
I'm torn between Aiden Grimshaw's Rocket Man or Kye Sones Love The Way You Lie/Thank You mash up.
I don't know if it was because both of them was my favourites in their respective series and it was painful to see them performing songs that really didn't suit them, or they really was just some of the worst song choices ever on The X Factor.
By the way I have nothing against the original versions of the songs.

Aiden wasn't that bad with Rocket Man, and Kye just kind of fell flat with that song, didn't Gary say there were like 30 flat notes or something?
I did not like Jade Ellis's version of Freak Like Me. When I heard her sing it that night, I had a good feeling she would be going home that night and I was right
I don't think any other winner has been criticised that much at any point in the competition.
Yes, worse than Steve imo. Brookstein was criticised for his attitude, Leon was a nice guy, but imo, he was totally forgettable. I'd put SB a close second though.
Treyc Cohen - Relight my Fire
Rebecca Ferguson - Candle in the Wind
Marcus Collins - Moves Like Jagger
Candle in the Wind was a great choice in terms of suitability for Rebecca...it's just that it was completely underwhelming as both a song and a performance, especially for a pimp slot.

At least Leon has some supporters here, you just have to look at his appreciation thread. He may be happy in his current position, but it does look as though the whole X Factor didn't benefit him as expected.
Cher Lloyd singing Imagine was quite underwhelming as well - out of all the ballads that the Beatles have done that Cheryl could have chosen, she chose that. It was a nice vocal performance, but the staging was ridiculous - the fact she came last that week says it all.
Eoghan singing Never Forget didn't seem right - he didn't have a big enough voice for the latter part of the song, especially those high notes which he failed to hit (I don't know what Louis was going on about saying he hit them).
Janet doing Somebody to Love was totally boring, and her performance of I Want You Back was just uncomfortable.
If Louis hadn't given Union J a predictable Westlife song, they would have been in the final. Christopher's performance of that Michael Bublè song was quite an abomination.

It was actually tik tok/push it
'Crazy' was the song Tulisa chose for The Risk that week.
I know, but she used Crazy for The Risk, too.

^this. You can't even find it on youtube, I think it was removed by XF!

Judging by his youtube channel he's actually quite good...
I genuinely think that had she done Toxic, my Preorgative or something more uptempo she would have won.
OMG, surely the worst of the lot!!! And the worst winner in XF history imo.
What the hell was Dannii on? 'You only lost it in the middle section' It was horrendous, all of it.
It reminded me of The Fast Show's Jazz Club
Even worse than Steve?

This should be removed from youtube, it's absolutely terrifying.
Terrible terrible version...even the dancers are awful. Everything about this performance was just awful!
Diana Vickers Girlfriend was also a poor choice.

Funny thing is that it was the contestant's own song choice...it was terrible.
I really like Reece but based on the performance show and the sing off I think Christina should have stayed in over him.
Completely agree! I forgot about this! I remember feeling so sorry for them as it was obvious that the producers wanted rid.
