The Goodmans Freeview box has audio description and might have the edge on usability for impaired vision users.

But good to see Sky introducing the box and it will pickup Insight radio from the RNIB which is not on Freeview!

Certainly an interesting looking device - does anyone know exactly what this can do and how it works?
It looks to have an RS232 connection, so is presumably mainly using the data output for the Sky gnome to do it's job.
It also seems to connect to the scart socket on the sky box - I can't quite imagine why it is doing this - is it doing some form of OCR too?

Further investigation suggests that the scart connection is just to enable the SkyTalker to play it's audio over the TV speakers, so I guess it really is quite a basic device that just "talks" the same data you see on the sky gnome's display.
