Parking in Newark on Trent

Anyone know any info on parking near the Castlegate area of Newark, please.
I have a high sided transit van for work and obviously can't get in multi story or barrier restricted car parks.
I did ring the council but spoke to a snotty jobsworth who was trying to sell me a season ticket.
It's a one off job, so I don't need that.

I've spotted one called "Town Wharf" that is listed on the Council website as having no barrier, but I just wondered if anyone with local knowledge knows of any others, please.

Thanks in advance.

That will be the closest one to Castlegate other than the Multi Storey.

Any supermarket carparks? Pay and display or otherwise?

There is some time restricted street parking as well near the castle.
Are you delivering or do you need access to your van for tools etc ?
If not there are more car parks but it depends how far you intend to walk.

Waitrose near Castle Station, Aldi on Northgate, Morrisons on Kings Road, Tolney Lane Car Park near Castle Station, Caste Station as well. London Road Car Park is another one. All within about a 5 - 7 minute walk or less of Castle Gate.
Forgot ASDA as well, opposite the Multi Storey.

I'm a singer/muso in a Duo - so we need to park the van somewhere safe while we do the gig and somewhere close for walking back to it after the gig late at night. One will stay with the gear in the venue while the other walks to get the van.
The venue doesn't have a parking area and it's on double yellow lines - so loading/unloading is going to tricky!

And will be setting up from 4pm ish and packing up after midnight.

Also wondered if there's any car park close that doesn't charge up to midnight, as I think this Town Wharf one does.

Don't know of any that won't charge you, most are council run, so expect them to have the same rules except the private ones. Morrisons isn't 24 hours so probably not be able to use that one. Asda is 24 Hours though. What venue are you playing at?

Don't think you will get in adsa in a high sided van and it will cost to much anyway for that amount of time.
The warf car park is £1.70 4 till 6 then £1 for after 6.
£2.70 altogether and it is the closest to castlegate.
I think it's your best deal unless you find some street parking and walk.
There is a pub called the navigation on millgate which leads to castlegate, they have a car park and don't charge.
It depends which end of castlegate you are going to.

The Wharf one sounds like the best bet then.
No barrier, close to the venue and not too expensive.

    - that Tolney Road one says it has a height restriction on the Council website.

    Waitrose might be a possible.

    Thanks so much everyone.
    Much appreciated.

If the Venue is The Mayze or The Castle, then the Wharf would probably be best, if it is The Atrium then The Navigation might be a better choice.
