I reckon those people will be looking for the next time it will end and say 2012 was a miscalculation. I'd bet money that said if you picked any particular date in the future you'd be able to get some events in the past, join them together and say the world is due to end on that date because of those particular events in the past.

Remember 9/11 and the Nostradamus theory, what was it, something like a star burning brightly at 55 degrees? The books flew off the shelf. Utter tosh.

Its 2014 and depends which country you talking about. The UK has David Cameron as PM and USA has Barack Obama as president

The next end of the world is on 2032 when a huge asteroid will hit earth.

Can we be more specific? I'd like to know if I'm going to die in shorts and a T-shirt or my winter coat. Or perhaps I won't even bother getting dressed that day.

Thing is if someone did properly predict the end of the world there'd be no one around for them to say "I told ya so".

I was well disappointed, I had £10 on the world to end at 500000/1

Yes - planes dropping out of the sky, ATM machines and computers not working, anything electronic with a built-in calendar giving up the ghost. Scaremongering at its finest!!! :D

EGS (Emergency Goalpost Shift) button is a must-have for the doom-mongers and naysayers.

Meanwhile, it's Armageddon in my living room as the dog has just farted....

...as in Armageddon out of here.

The Mayan calendar never actually predicted anything, it's exactly the same as our calendar ending on December 31st, it just starts again the next day.

You mean all the nasty, small-minded, bigoted mouth-breathers have pissed off?

There are companies who you can pay to look after your pets incase of the Rapture. Wish I'd thought of that.
