Do you want to talk about wrestling as a whole, or just WWE.

A general wrestling thread would be great, however, there is already a multi part, multi page thread dedicated to WWE in this very forum.

I think Willie Mack, while less well known than Steen, Devitt and KENTA, could proof himself in the long term to be just as good of an investment and pick up.

Adam Cole would be worth another review soon, he's certainly a better hand than Fandango and would fill a similar role much better. I honestly think The Young Bucks could have been the next Hardy Boyz but they are locked down long term in NJPW, that WWE overlooked them and Richochet because they claimed to have "enough flippy guys" is just crap. I really think Superstars should act as the step between RAW, Main Event and Smackdown for NXT talent, not just the reserve for jobbers to clash. If you are going to have Slater Gator jobbing out, have them do it to The Ascension and Lucha Dragonz.

It's a shame WWE will never hire him, apparently he got caught doing gay porn. In Dragon Gate you have people with signs about it :o

Didn't Backlund hold the belt longer than Cena?

I've followed British wrestling since going to my first live show in 1977, I have followed the WWF as was since 1986 when I got cable TV and WWF Superstars was on every week and they showed WM3 live in 1987 which was a fantastic spectacle.

I started watching it on Channel 4 and WCW on Cartoon Network channel TNT.

AR Fox did gay porn? Why does that stop him getting into the WWE?

I think there might be some ahem, other issues with the prospect of Chyna coming back. You know, like the fact that she hates Stephanie McMahon!

But I agree that the porn thing shouldn't hold this guy's career back if he's good enough. WWE dominate the market so heavily though that they aren't really desperate to sign anyone and can really take or leave whoever they want on the indy scene.

Sean Waltman obviously did porn and he's been back as recently as two years ago and pretty sure he was around at HOF this year.

As FMKK says, her issues with Stephanie and Trip are the big factors I imagine. It was nice however that Trip spoke about Chyna on the DX episode of MNW. I was expecting her to be airbrushed out.

Mickie James and Beulah McGillicutty also did porn before working for WWE.

What happened with Chyna and The Helmsleys?

She was in a relationship with HHH, she claims he cheated on her with Steph, they claim relationship was already done.

I googled this guy AR Fox and saw lots of articles going on about the 'scandal.' Am I the only one who doesn't see why this is a scandal at all?

Um... then how did they let X-Pac back on TV for the DX reunion? Also Shawn did Playgirl back in the day... Hell, WWE had an annual deal with Playboy to feature a diva in the magazine a month before Wrestlemania for years.

Seeing that this thread is about wrestling history etc. what are people's memories of 1995? I know it's meant to be one of the worst years in WWF history but as I've mentioned on the other thread, I've been watching some Nitro from 1995 and I'm actually finding it really enjoyable. The Hogan stuff is goofy and lots of crowds are starting to turn on him but the pacing and the commentary etc. is so different from what came before and a breath of fresh air compared to now.

Haha, just saw a WCW in-ring segment where Mean Gene plugs a hotline number that gives out WWF backstage gossip. Pathetic stuff all round.
