Does anyone have it? I've got a short-ish list of channels, but they don't all seem to be there. There are 10 listed on Lyngsat, I've got 4 FTA ones. Have I missed something?

I looked into which sat to go for, the consensus was hotbird. The query is that I don't seem to have the ones tat are listed as being there. Is my list out of date?

Hmmm, not getting all of that, though I have that list. Better have another scan. I've just deleted f knows how many soft porn channels too:D Ah well. Was hoping someone who watches might be able to confirm that that is up to date, and they are in fact being transmitted.

I had also to delete sexysexy arab girls etc:D There are about 100 soft porn arabic channels, presumably catering to a market. So there must be a lot of Arabs who are not members of the taliban, which is a relief to us all.

I watched it in English for about a minute. There's nothing on it but a half clad bird asking you to phone a premium rate number. Very disappointing.

What size dish do you need to get them? Would a 60 or 80cm dish be ok? I'm thinking of getting one if Sky doesn't work out for me!!

60 would be fine. A 43cm minidish would do the job if you are in Southern England.

However on Hotbird the English and Italian versions are encryprted as part of the Sky Italia package and the Polish version is part of the the TVN, Cyfra+ and Orange packages. Some of these Polish packages are pretty cheap though.

Astra 19.2E has CNBC in English FTA though.

Well I'm in Ireland - would that affect the signal?

no be best to use a 60cm then you could add a motor to go between hotbird and astra 19east

Might be a good idea! Would be quicker to train the dish to those satellites then - as long as I wouldn't be interrupting anyone else's TV viewing! :p

Could you not just use a dual LNB setup for 13 and 19E, for less money? And I have to say, I used an 80cm dish in London for Hotbird, signal strength/quality is banging, plenty in reserve for rainy days.

That might be the way to go if I get the dish!! Then I wouldn't interrupt anyone else's viewing.

Thanks for the pictures :) The graphics are kinda similar to an old style CNBC Europe/US, but I think both channels are affiliates of CNBC Europe (the one based in London).

Just so. You could use a dual or quad LNBs as required for other users, instead of singles, and there are quite a few boxes with two inputs, selectable for exactly this setup.
