Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead
Apparently there is a Facebook campaign to get this to number one, so I checked iTunes, already number 30....

My favourite version

Judy Garland. There loads of other versions of the song (and other Thatcher related songs) lower down the chart, but I can't see Klaus Nomi's version anywhere.
Judy Garland's version might miss out on top 40, but it looks pretty certain to be getting top 100 this week.
personally, i hated her, and im amused by this. i shed no tears, as she didnt for all the misery she created. this whole celeb culture worship, reality tv music shows, and blatantly manufactured music are just three things we have today that are as a direct result from that womans policies.
she showed no respect for everyone her policies detrimentally effected, why should we respect her for this?... good riddance.
Well said, I don't usually agree with you, but you are spot on.
Agreed. Yes, she was hated by many but at the end of the day there is a family grieving and such a sickening jab is heartless and wrong. What happened to taking the moral high ground? How is celebrating her death so publicly making her haters any better than what she actually was to them?
Not saying I agree with it but I understand it.
Exactly. There were fireworks going off in Glasgow last night.
So you are only entitled to have opinions on events which you have lived through?
So by your logic I can hold no opinion on any event prior to the late 80s?
I understand what that poster is saying. Harry Styles tweeted RIP Thatcher yesterday and then we had loads of 13 year old girls doing the same and saying the abuse she was receiving was disgusting. None of these kids have a clue what they are talking about! I find their attitude more annoying because they have jumped on a bandwagon, so I think that's what the op is referring to.
Yeah, I hate that argument too.
Back to the thread topic though, I'm not going to start arguing about whether it's morally wrong or whatever, but if people are going to do it, I do wonder why this song has been chosen when there are several better songs that are directly critical of Thatcher:
Elvis Costello - Tramp the Dirt Down
Frank Turner - Thatcher F***** the Kids
Morrissey - Margaret on the Guillotine
Just to name a few.
