Block renaming of pictures

I've used the Windows "file block renaming" facility to rename a series of photos into a more sensible order.
eg DSC001 DSC007 DSC010 to Holiday001 Holiday002 Holiday003 etc

The new names appear OK on my laptop but when I show them on my Panasonic TV using the Viera Cast function they show up under their original names. I've tried creating a new folder and moving the pictures into it but the TV still show their original file names.

Anyone know why this is happening and how I can get the television to accept the new file names.

I've had something similar, and its down the the NAS functionality not publishing the new name properly. Are you browsing to the new files through folders or just flat files?

It's probably using the name in the EXIF data, not the filename.

    You'll need an EXIF editor.

    Thanks for the replies.

    I'm viewing them via folders.

I'll have a look at what EXIF is/does
