Samsung PS51E530 Plasma TV anyone got one?

Bought this TV yesterday and im having problems with the Picture settings on it and just wanted to know if anyone has one so i can get some help with it please.
When i turned it on for the 1st time The Picture seem very dark so i have been trying to change it so it does not look so dark but for some reason its not working.
So if you have one what settings do you have yours at?
have to say my old 40in LCD tv looks better settings wise but i always though Plasma was better then lcd.
Also on it i cant turn it off unless i take plug out so when i turn it off it can only be done so it goes into standby which i find a bit strange that i cant turn it off fully by switch on telly like many others.
it gets very warm at the back more so then old LCD is this normal?
any help please.

You must have been listening to the Plasma fans on here
Some people consider Plasma a better picture (mostly for SD), others consider LCD is better (particularly for HD).
Very few sets have mains switches these days.
Yes, Plasma sets use considerably more power than LCD, and thus run MUCH hotter.

Also just to add to my List of problems with it I have seen while watching BBC1 last night that i am getting some Flickering of the screen(i mean you can see white that is flickering on screen) so how can i stop that?
if its not how do i download it to the telly?
