    Including +1, NOT tape-checked.

    19:00 - Britain's Got Talent: 8.43m (42.2%)
    * peak: 9.76m
    20:15 - British Soap Awards: 5.58m (26.7%)
    * peak: 6.69m
    22:15 - Perspectives: 1.91m (12.0%)

So very pleased Perspectives did well, it was a very well made doc with Bruce Forsyth. :)

BGT did as well as expected, it was mostly choosing the acts for next week - nothing too exciting. Superb share though.

Soap Awards did better than expected as well.

Good result for BGT, within 100k of last years Sunday rating, which was an hour later. BBC held up well as always.

Very low rating for Britains Got Talent, that is its worst rating auditions episode since 2008! It really has lost loads of steam the last few weeks. This week of live shows looks set to be the worst rating in years.

No boost whatsoever for the British Soap Awards, down from last year's rating even though last year it only had a Catchphrase lead-in.

Absolutely no chance of a 6.5million average. It will rate around 4.5-5.5m.

'It will rate around 4.5-5.5m', and then when it rates at 5.6m you're disappointed.

Soap awards are down by 0.14m inc +1. Not even worth discussing imo, same with BGT. Losing my patience already with you and its only 10am.

Its down a tiny amount from last years 8.14m with 431k on +1 last audition ep from 2013, but if it makes up you happy carry on with your sky is falling rant.

That 5.6m is including +1. Without +1, probably rated around 5.2m.

I didnt say it was a disappointing rating. But imagine if it didnt have a BGT lead-in yesterday, it would've rated as low as around 4.5m and would've been way down from last year. Did the peak come in the first 5-10mins?

You might as well ask a piece of dog plop for a more unbiased opinion.

Bit low for Quirke. I can see now why BBC delayed airing it for almost 8months, it was quite a dark drama in terms of lighting and not a very mainstream one. Like From Here To There, it is being burned off right now just before the World cup starts. Its ratings wont matter too much.

That's what I thought. Soap Awards did pretty good to get 5.6m, I was a bit optimistic with my prediction :D

Look- I didnt say it was a bad rating for the Soap Awards. All I said is it got no boost whatsoever from the BGT lead-in compared to last years rating when it followed Catchphrase. Also statistically speaking it was BGT's lowest rating auditions show [excl the repeat] since 2008, thats a fact. It was its lowest share of the series too. Whats the excuse this time?

BGT's ratings share have been on a downward spiral the last 5 weeks:

    ep3 47pct
    ep4 46pct
    ep5 45pct
    ep6 43pct
    ep7 42pct

I can't wait for BBC1+1 to launch so we can stop ignoring ITV's +1 figures.

Nice share again for BGT, again close to half the viewing public watching. If it was a certain BBC One talent show getting 40% share I'm sure it would be an outstanding showing and proof if it was needed that the public just love BBC and are loyal....

You don't need to ignore the +1 figures. There is only one who is stubborn in his bashing. Include +1 as much as you like

    TUESDAY MAY 27th at 10am.

I have made an urgent appointment at a psychiatrists in Milton Keynes for all those who are suffering from Compulsive Samuel Disorder. Andy needs to attend to try and sort out his paranoia. Please attend, it's the only chance this thread has of becoming a normal environment again. Take a candle and a piece of string with you. You'll also need a bullclip for your nose.

    Thanks for the list.

Big drop in viewers/share from 2002 onwards-and then from 2006. Looking at the 11.00m, I wonder what BGT would have been getting had it been around at that time and at its peak.

Compared to last year, Itv weekly reaches for the Itv sd channel, Itv hd channel and Itv+! have been down across the board.

There is a weekly reach crisis at the broadcaster at the moment. 90pct of their returning shows down year on year. Champions league final only beating sky by 4.1-1, whereas last year at its peak it was 6.1-1. It's clearly a weekly reach crisis.
sorry it's taken so long to get back to you on this. I agree that "week for week", the reach is down compared to last year. The problem is that, comparing individual weeks can give a false impression because of different programmes being shown in the years being compared. if we take the most recent quarterly figures available from BARB:

    average weekly reach: (itv/itvHD/itv+1)
    Q4 2012: 71.1/9.8/19.0
    Q4 2013: 69.7/11.3/19.1

The overall decline is much more gentle. But we're still awaiting Q1 for 2014 which would give a much more relevant figure to the period that we're discussing. Just in case someone has access to the latest numbers, here's the Q1 2013 figures for comparison:

    Q1 2013: 71.2/10.4/19.6

    BIB - 'burned off'?!

BBC One doesn't have sufficient drama to 'burn off' - plus if that's being burned off, does the same apply for Happy Valley, which is (rightly) attracting rave reviews and netting decent ratings?

A few holes in your argument there … ;-)

I think the British Soap Awards should alternate between Itv and BBC1 for fairness purposes like what used to happen with the BAFTAs before Itv gave up. It would be nice to see the awards ceremony on BBC1 as EE is a major part of it.
