So convenient he lives and owns his business with her.
Lol, well, exactly.... sounds like she's a big help to him to have around... and now that she's so settled in it will be hard to end it even if anyone wanted to
This of course is only your opinion. Given the fact that the public voted him the winner. ho-hum
ye because the public love the 'nicey-nicey', non disruptive hms as I mentioned. I can understand if he was likeable but he wasn't.. Im sorry but I can't like someone who is so blatantly desperate for public affection.
He went in that house & whinged & moaned for 3 fkn months about how others were making his life hell. At least they had fun, nasty or not. I prefer the care-free types. Sorry .
one memorable => Aaron
the other one forgetabble -> who was it, again? What was his/her name?...forgot!
The side-splitting joke that it is impossible to remember the name of a winner from a month ago is wearing a bit thin. His name is Luke, he was a brilliant housemate and a lovely person, and no housemate has ever made such an effort to show appreciation to their fans.

They gave him that affection he so desperately craved & pleaded for 3 months. Oc he showed appreciation.

Obviously he was not likeable in your opinion however the majority of the public thought he was, I doubt they would have voted him as their winner if they hadn't thought him a likeable character.
Again, in your opinion he whinged & moaned but realistically that's not the opinion of all the people who voted for him. He won, people like him, they found him entertaining and endearing

Luke won with 32.73% of the vote...Certainly not the majority.
Adam came a close 2nd with 28.16%.
Deana with 21.47%....
Josie Gibson's landslide 'victory' with over 70% of the vote is what you call a majority.
Hello YL:)
I can't remember if the results were published last year! ;Tho I did read somewhere that according to facebook and twitter it was a landslide!
The voting figures were never disclosed. It may well have been, but it was very confusing with Jay's apparently massive fan group. Even now he has a HUGE twitter following, far bigger than anyone else's from that series. Did none of those people vote?
I suspect (and I didn't especially like Aaron and liked Luke very much, so I have no covert motive in suggesting this) that there is a demographic which votes very heavily, and that is women over 25. Capture that group's hearts and you can win even if your fans are not actually a majority. Jay was never going to make people from this group commit £50 every time he was up; nor would Conor have done, or Luke S or Ashleigh. Aaron and Luke have very similar followings: mainly female, mainly over 25. (There are exceptions of course). I remember the conversations last year, some implied and some overt, about the large sums of money people were willing to spend to keep Aaron in. The same was happening this year with Luke.
The moral is - be the kind of housemate your mum would adore (unless your mum is Lea from BB7) and you have the best chance of winning.

How was it not the majority, the majority of the voting public chose LukeA as their winner therefore he got the majority vote They loved him, they still do. He is a nice person, a good guy, he's funny and endearing, that's what people want, that's why nice people win and nasty people don't.
The Final
Results from the top three places
Luke A – 33.73%
Adam – 28.16%
Deana – 21.47%
These figures are taken directly from the BB site.

I must admit to spending a few pounds on trying to keep Deana in.:o after promising never to vote again after the Nikki fiasco. I am so soft sometimes:D

I always thought to have the 'majority', meant you have to have half of the votes!
In Luke's case, he didn't.
It also doesn't mean more of the Public preferred Luke to Adam and Deana. It could equally mean less of the Public voted for Luke, but those who did, gave him multiple votes. There is one massive fan of Luke's on the App thread who according to her posts spent over £150 on votes for him in the final:eek:
15 fans of Adam's or Deana's spending a tenner each would spend £150..

This would make it 15 fans to 1...;)
Oh that can't be true surely, £150:eek: I wouldn't have bothered voting for Deana if I had known this.
That's what she says YL...I thought I was bad with my £ 30 / 50 on all votes cast for Deana. Still, if somebody has that sort of money to spend on their fave, that's their perogative;)

I checked my phone bills and I spent about £60 all told and I thought I was mad:D

The truth is thought, that any housemate is just as likely to have obsessive fans who will vote multiple times, not just the winner. The winner is the one who collects the most votes from both obsessive fans and those who vote only once or twice.

I always thought this applied if there were only 2, I could be wrong.
Anyway my point was that he was voted the winner by the majority of the people who voted. I doubt that Lukes fans were any wealthier or more willing to spend large amounts of money that the other HMs fans. I like LukeA. I think he's a thoroughly likeable character and an all round good guy. I believe he won on his own merit. I like it when the 'good guys' defeat the 'bad guys' it makes for a nicer world.

To be fair, one of Deana's fans claimed to have spent £1000 on the final. I could link the post if you doubt me.
I am not sure if any of Luke's fans spent £150? I don't remember it. One person may have spent more than usual because I was in France and had to send her money to vote for me. :o
