I can pick up a number of the BBC regions on my Sky Box and often flick around in the morning around the time the Regional News comes on. I often wonder is the News recorded from the evening before in some of the regions. Moreover I get the feeling that when they switch to the regional weather, it is to be recorded for sure as you seldom see the newspresenter and the weather presenter shown in the one shot that you see maybe at 6-30pm. It could be that I am just missing out on it if they do show the two together.

I don't think they get away with recording the news in the evening and broadcast it the next morning. What would the point be?
This is true for the weasther from the Leeds studio although the same weather presenter also does the Hull and Newcastle based programmes so they are not live.
Weather is a pre-recorded insert, covering I think 3 regions from a central location.
They do sometimes play out the wrong region !
And the live presenter(s) often reply to emails between bulletins.
