I was discussing this with a friend the other day and a big factor we agreed on was that Tulisa isn't very likeable. If you look at Cheryl Cole, I wouldn't rate her as a singer/artist but she is quite likeable. Tulisa doesn't have that, she's very off-putting so no matter what the quality of her music was, I don't think it would have done very well.
