Edge swipe problems

Hi
I recently bought a new Acer M5 laptop with Elan Touchpad.
After the initial frustration of the charms bar constantly appearing, I realised that this was down to the edge swipe feature and have disabled it.
This appeared to work fine as the charms bar no longer appears.
Unfortunately, now, swiping my finger in from either Top, Left or Right does nothing. What I mean is that the cursor does not move.
Has anybody else had this problem?

A few gestures don't appear to work now but I can live with that.
No, the 2 finger tap does not work even though it is enabled.
