Thought I'd create a thread, for people like me who look beyond the charts for new music.

I've made some great discoveries over the years just working my way through iTunes and the great sea of unknown artists, and found some amazing stuff. If you've done the same post what you found here

Too many to list, especially as no-one's usually heard of anything by Concrete Blonde, Iron Savior, Conor Oberst or Drive-By Truckers.
Also Your Witness, from the soundtrack of Martyrs. I think most people wimped out of watching it for long enough to notice the lovely music on the credits!

I'm into obscure stuff that most in Britain and Ireland have never heard of. Some examples:

'Bla Bla Kanslor' by Tomas Ledin (a guy I am heavily into)
'Magic Touch' by Peter Kent (German schlager singer)
'Stand Tall' by Burton Cummings
'Turn To Dust' by Jane Clifton (although fans of 'Prisoner Cell Block H will remember her as 'Margo Gaffney' in the series)

This is my mate Col he writes all his own material,a few producers interested in him, but he as been fighting cancer & been very ill the last couple of years & he as beaten cancer twice now & Dr's have gave him the all clear & he is doing really good health wise now & is getting stronger, i drum on some of his tracks, but i am not on this one..

Pretty much anything by The Cat Empire, an Australian ska/jazz/funk band who are unknown over here, yet somehow still manage to sell out every venue they play at when the tour the UK every year. Seen them twice live and each time they have been absolutely amazing!
