I'm really not his biggest fan, but watching him just then, I think he showed up everything that's wrong with X-factor.
He isn't the most pitch perfect singer in the world, there ware no big notes of melodramatic trills or 'runs' - just a decent singer who sounded connected with his song.
It drew me in, it made me want to know what he was singing about and stop & listen. This is what real artists do - not treat performance like an Olympic sport.

You must be somewhere in the Midlands then - we were there too :-)
This is a very good comment, real artists feel a song & sing from the heart not turn it into vocal gymnastics for the sake of it. Ben for instance sang on saturday with a deadpan expression that showed no emotion for the song. I've got a lot of respect for Ed Sheeran has he worked hard to get where he is but a bit dissapointed that he appears on a jokey karaoke contest where the wannabees crave their instant 15 minutes of fame crucifying other peoples songs.
I don't think Ed would see it like that after all he is best friends with Harry Styles and has written three songs for 1D including (Little things) . In fact it was them who gave him a leg up by having him open for them in Madison Square Gardens

Wow I guess they never listen to any radio station going to and from work then.
Really?I don't think I know anyone under 40/50 who wouldn't know him.He is more successful than any XF contestant other than 1D atm.
Only just woken up from the trance they put me in!:o
