If you put away your first reaction of invasion of privacy you could then look at his motivation which is to protect his daughter and make sure she is safe. Camera in bedroom could be useful if she for example tries to take drugs or worse. He could intervene and potentially safe her life.
Good point, certainly there have been too many tragic cases of youngsters committing suicide in their rooms , but this seems a step too far.
Then in that case she needs more monitoring not less!
Teenagers make bad choices not because they are bad but because of lack of judgment at stage in their lives. Think maybe if people look at farthers motivation he is not being creepy just protective. Plus it his his home and if daughter does not like it then move out.
He probably does think he's been protective. He is also being creepy.
Control freaks often do use the excuse of being protective, doesn't stop it being wrong.
I understand in this day and age keeping a close eye on kids mobiles and internet use, I also get wanting to know where they are and when they will get back, I think the mobile phone trackers you can get are a good idea should your kids not be able to be located , I at a stretch might even say a camera in the hall facing the front door could be ok, for security if you have had a previous problem and maybe the kids are being left alone on trust and having a fixed number of friends and you could check every now and again if all is ok and the door is not showing a mob arriving ( at a push as I said )
But if this guy is being truthful then he is paranoid and a control freak , as for a camera in the bedroom I would be ok with that if it was a baby and you wanted to check they were ok whilst a babysitter was in but for no other reasons ( I suppose if you suspected abuse it might be ok to a certain level not sure how one does that and respect privacy though ) especially for older children it is creepy and shows a complete lack of trust and respect for their privacy, one wonders is it really for their safety and security or is it just to satisfy his insecurities.,
Let's turn this round. How does this go down with everyone?
My parents are in their mid-eighties (one with Alzhiemer's) and I am their only carer. I want to go out from time to time, and I am considering putting cameras in the bedroom, bathroom and other rooms so I can *spy* on them if I am in a wifi zone whilst out.
This is so I can raise the alarm or get home quickly if either falls, or there is some other emergency that requires attention.
Anyone like to comment?
This week we have seen two high profile fake news stories
1) Syrian boy rescues sister under gun fire, and
2) Bystanders try to take advantage of Drunk woman
How easy it must be for a journalist to simply make shit up to earn £250 for a filler piece.

Then you would find a way of doing so without compromising every bit of their privacy , the guy in the article does not seem to be worried about privacy as long as he knows their every movement in or out of the house, the two scenarios are very very different, the one you give is an understandable one which could be worked around if needed.

But!!! But!!! It's some sort of unwritten forum rule we have to believe everything...
Can't with Mum, she hasn't the mental capacity to consent to anything, in fact I have POA over her. Luckily Dad's still around, but if he fell or had a similar accident there's no way Mum could understand and arrange help
Dad would agree totally though, as long as he can sit in front of the telly all night watching programmes about the war!
Why wouldn't she ever be naked in her own bedroom? Drying off and dressing after a shower, changing from clothes into PJs, just fancying being naked in her own private bedroom maybe?

You don't need cameras in the bathroom just on the bathroom door to know if they are in there for an inordinate lengthy of time and might have fallen. The bedroom would be a no no.

Run the idea past them & see what they think?

LOL why would she be naked?
Good point. That never happens.
It's this thing called getting dressed or undressed.
How do you change clothes then ?
Do you use osmosis ? One set of clothes magically transforms into another without ever exposing any naked skin ?
And what about when you get out of the bath or shower ?
Do you take a clean set of clothes into the bathroom with you and get dressed there ?
LOL... Eh?
Why wouldn't she ever be naked in her own bedroom? Drying off and dressing after a shower, changing from clothes into PJs, just fancying being naked in her own private bedroom maybe?
I can't believe I seriously just answered that.
Hardly rocket science?

Well it legally can occur at 16 years of age so no reason why it wouldn't.
What about masturbatuin no law or age limitt on that?
how do you put your pants on then, guessing you don't wear a bra get dressed or undressed?
Which probably hardly ever occurs with you, so you wear the same clothes all the time. Dirty man.
