    Offer lasts for 12 months half price for anything you subscribe for if f a new customer and half priced movie package for existing customers. if you only have broadband and talk you class as a new customer if you take out the TV package only have two offers left.

    I managed to get one of these deals a couple of months ago, Sky were leafleting houses in this area. I phoned them as a few weeks earlier I had bought a used Sky + HD box from a British Heart Foundation shop. Sky were very keen to install a new box but I turned them down as the Pace box I bought is fine, they just sent me a viewing card. The on demand services are fine although my internet connection is from Plusnet not Sky.

    One thing did surprise me. A few weeks later I received a phone call from Sky asking if I was happy with the installation. The Sky employee was very confused when I told him there had been no installation and I was using a second hand box bought from a charity shop and connected to a dish installed over 10 years ago.. He said something I didn't quite understand about Sky not liking people using second hand boxes and told me they are sometimes turned off (?) He also tried to sell me a "breakdown insurance" policy for the box which seemed to be a rip off.

    Despite all that, the box still works perfectly.
