Has Ann Widdecombe gone too far this time and crossed the line?

I was astonished to hear Ann Widdecombe on last nights Newsnight claim theres probably going to be a major breakthrough in alzheimers research soon and that this will elongate lifespan hugely(What does hugely mean-5 years-10 years ??) and contribute to a pensions crisis.
No internet research I have done has backed up this claim-very speculative claim presented as fact by Ann.She is not a scientist or expert in this field and I think its morally wrong of her to abuse her fame to falsely get peoples hopes up.
I was looking forward to seeing her on Strictly Come Dancing but at the minute I am just plain annoyed at her false/exagerated claims.

???????
I just..don't know where to start...
We can but hope. She's a reprehensible creature.
I think she's right about the pension crisis though, sad but true and I think it will be far worse in the future.
She never defined hugely either which I find to be flakey on detail.
Cure is the wrong word.
If she had twins she wouldn't even have to take them out of the cot to feed them.
She might well be right and you don't have to be Mystic Meg to predict medical breakthroughs in certain illnesses as there are these type of reports every week.
It depends on how you interpret "soon."A week? A month? A year? Two years?
She may well be privy to information not yet in the public domain and which a particular drug company wants to keep under wraps.
As a former health secretary I'm wondering whether she has developed some sort of "relationship" with one of the big pharmaceutical firms.
I'd hate to be her dancing partner, she'd be difficult to lift.
She's sixty odd; perky boobs are a thing of the past for women of that age, as a general rule.
There's no chance of that Anne herself has said she is a virgin and very proud to be a virgin.
For the sake of whoever gets to partner her on Strictly, I rather hope she comes with a hoist........
She wasnt a former health seretary but a SHADOW health secretary.
I dont think any scientist would give her priviledged info as a former backbencher.
Most breakthroughs reported in the press 90% fall at the final hurdle and never make it to the chemist.
Christ knows what they were like when they were pert then.
They must have stuck out like torpedos.
She's often cruel and unneccesary!
Very funny though
Since when does "there's probably going to be" amount to a statement of fact
