I watched the first half, the blurry camera work was too distracting.

Good episode,( nice to see Chrissie Watts out of jail), thought that lad at the end was going to die though.

I persevered to the end and now feel dizzy and have a headache.

What are they thinking?? It wasn't like that the last series?

I also found it hard to engage with any of the patients, as to me they'll always be Claire from Corrie, Chrissie from EE, the old drunk from Rev and the incredibly annoying Jody Somebody or other from Shameless.

If things don't improve next week, I might give it a swerve. :(

I tend to agree . I like the story lines but hate it when they pick such well known faces . Can't stand movies with any of the Friends cast for the same reason.

Happy with S1 but not so with this new monroe. Neil Pearson and Tracy Ann as the dropped in controversy makers.

Was there this much conflict in the whole series ?

Oh, the very two things that put me off from the get-go. I thought my eyesight was going with the blurry focus, what's all that about?

I also agree with the point regarding well known faces, so many of them give me a headache, i don't like seeing any really. I've always had this problem, especially with Brit dramas. Apart from that it seemed boring and i don't like Nesbitt? either. Left it on in the background, family wanted to watch but paid it no heed. Oh well

Chrissie from EE wasn't a patient though, she was a Nurse specialist :p

Yeah, um, not sure what to make of this episode. It held my attention, I give it that, and the 'known' faces didn't bother me so much as I don't really watch soaps, but there were some things about it that 'erked' me a bit: Monroe's smugness, I thought that might be jolted a bit when that lad's op, not necessarily with him dying, but with some complication and Monroe making a correction or something; the parent's silly reaction to the son's marriage announcement, a bit childish for adults; and I think the other bits were to do with storyline too.

OK episode, might watch the next one to see if it keeps my attention again. :D

We quite enjoyed it, loved series 1. Takes an episode to bed in new characters I suppose. I thought monroe might actually decided not to go ahead with the op, realising he wasn't all knowing.

I thought the scene with the son was quite funny, (reminded me a bit of my son telling me his girlfriend was pregnant recently - they made sure I'd had a few first too). bit worried about how much red wine was being knocked back considering they were in surgery the next morning

I hadn't seen this before, and it seemed ok, and I may watch it again. I did think that Monroe was a bit of a TV stereotype surgeon though. Someone who is slightly eccentric, very popular , has a complicated private like , but mainly the fact that he is an absolute genius and will never make a mistake

I was hoping I would be wrong and that patient with the brain tumour would die , but no. Two surgeons turned him down , but our hero gets it done.

Well I thought that was a great episode tonight, back to the quality of Series 1.

Best thing about it was that they've obviously fired the cameraman that filmed the first ep last week. :D

I must admit I was wrong about Monroe. He does screw up, and big time in the latest episode. I assumed he was going to be like Quincey, who in every episode was told he was on the wrong track only to be proved correct in the end.

And there doesn't seem to be any romantic interest for Monroe, though I wonder if he and that admin lady ( the one that used to be in Eastenders) will get together.

I have to say I enjoyed it, far more realistic that I had supposed .

David 1955 agree it was good to see Monroe screw up.

We're convinced he's going to get together with Eastenders lady

So obvious that anaesthetist guy was going to go back to young lady Doc's place though.

I saw it. With regard to Monroe never screwing up, it was only when he mentioned the surgeon who operated on his own sister that I vaguely began to remember that before we ever met him, Monroe had to operate on his own daughter, who died. The pressure on the family as a result was what broke up his marriage in the first series, which seems so long ago now that I'd forgotten all about it. If I'm remembering this right, he's definitely no stranger to surgery going wrong!

I quite enjoyed it, but I probably get too 'involved' in the outcome for the patients. I was right on the edge of my chair last night when it looked like that guy wasn't going to wiggle his toes. The staff relationships can be a bit annoying (in an 'I'd like to bang their heads together' kind of way), but unfortunately they're believable too. I really like the character of the little nurse who told whatsisname to tuck his tie in :)

Certainly no screw ups this week, but a couple of close calls.

What is the matter with the chinese surgeon ( sorry dunno the name , is it Whitney ? ) She was just as responsible for sleeping with the anaesthetist as he was , so why the rudeness..

Funny sort of set up where all the staff end up at Monroe's place, surgeons , admin , nurses , porter , to play cards and knock back wine, but though I think it unlikely that they would all mix socially it may be that those in that sort of stressful job do feel the need to relax together.

I could have sworn it was him who was rude to her first, she approached him first and after a couple lines of dialogue, he said something (sorry I was semi-studying for an exam at the same time so I can't recall what was said) which was pretty abrupt and left her startled.

The amount of people from DS watching this has kinda dwindled a bit. I still think Monroe seemingly has this seemingly midas touch with his work. I thought this might have been broken with the operation on that guy with the very caring mother, but of course super-Monroe is back to put rights his near-wrongs! :D I thought it was a bit silly that same guy didn't want that life-changing operation to ensure he had the use of his limbs but of course as soon as the word impotence was mention, the mind did a full change! Perhaps it was supposed to be a humourous moment that was lost on me at the time! :)

I didn't bother watching/trying Series 1 of this. But I've been watching Series 2 and think it's a pretty good show.

However I wasn't in to watch last Monday's episode. Just went to watch it on the ITV Player, only to discover it's not on there. Why not?

That is odd, no idea why but you might get an answer from them via their 'contact us' link on their website. I've tried once and didn't get a reply.

As far as I can remember, she politely told him the next morning that she thought they'd made a mistake. In a voice heavy with sarcasm, he replied with something along the lines of 'Oh, I thought it was a great thing we did and imagined we'd dip into a broom cupboard somewhere for another pop at it.' Those weren't his exact words, but it was clear he thought they'd made a mistake too, but was much more dismissive of her in saying so.

Shortly after, he decided it would be a bright idea to tell his wife about the whole thing. The 'truth' was essential to his marriage, but not to the career of his 'bit on the side', who not only happens to work with his wife - his wife is her superior. He eventually retracts this 'threat', which is when he got an earful from bit-on-the-side (I can't remember her name either, but in my defence, I've forgotten his as well :) )

Quite honestly, I'd be p'd off in her situation too. She's clearly not high on his priorities, but as long she continues to work with his wife and enjoy her job, she'll never be able to put this 'mistake' behind her for fear that he'll decide to spill the beans and rake it up again. Looking at next week's trailer, she's probably right to feel as she does. But definitely wrong in playing a blatently obvious revenge fixture with the arrogant new registrar :)

Never knew Sky had one! I just checked on Virgin's TV on Demand and it's on there too. :)
