And I am sure that all decent Americans with feel shame that these tea party nut job people belong to the same country as them.

So you think all muslims should "hang their heads in shame" when a few extemists muslims do something offensive?

Just a "yes" or a "no" is required :)

Why is there always the assumption that because you condemn one form of extremism, you condone another?

I am not asking anyone to condone it, I am asking him whether he is willing to make the same generalisation for all people in all groups or whether this just applies to some.

    It's consistency I'm looking for.

    Understood.

So for consistency's sake you want all other Americans to speak out against the antics of this Tea Party lot?

After all, you, I and others want "moderate" Muslims to speak out against the fundamentalists.

Plenty of Americans, indeed the vast majority would deplore racist abuse and I think that's rather clear.

    Do I?

Apologies. I thought in previous discussions you said you did.

I thought I answered that in the post above where I said that I didn't condone extremists of any description.

oh but are you just as vocal if extremist muslims air their views? most hard leaning left wingers arent and have a double standard

    No problem.

Do you think Americans should hang their heads in shame or do you not believe in apportioning blame on the many based on the actions of the few?

I know a few Americans who support this, they are indeed racist (though say otherwise), they love Glen Beck, Sarah Palin and they label the uk as socialists.
One of them said to me "Obama is like a skunk, half white, half black and everything he does stinks" and then went on to explain how that 'joke' wasn't racist.
They also call Obama 'Hussain' for some reason.

I have tried to understand them but I honestly can't.

That video reminded me of when those black students tried to go to university. How awful for them and those poor children, I hope they aren't too badly scarred by that.

The crowd should realise that their hateful actions MAKES people terrorists.

And of course the anwer is no. But I am sure that all decent Americans will feel some shame that these nut job tea partyers belong to the same country as them just as all decent Muslims will feel some shame that the exremists belong to the same faih as them.

And yet only one group should "hang their heads in shame". Clear double standards.

Not as vocal however it does not mean that I condone what they do or what they say. However they way that you and your fellow right wingers are trying to deflect attention from the video that showed hatred bile and spleen being vented to innocent women and children is it safe to assume that you condone what these tea partyers are doing?

You and your fellow right wingers are going to some trouble to deflect attention from a video showing hatred bile and spleen being vented on innocent women and children. Can I assume from your failure to criticise these tea partyers that it is proof that you condone what they are up to.

No, of course all Americans should not hang their heads in shame at the antics of the Tea Party - many are completely opposed to them.

Likewise all Brits shouldn't hang theirs at the antics of the BNP/EDL.

I think the only difference is one of scale - the number of Islamic fundamentalists in the UK is a hell of a lot lot smaller than supporters of the Tea Party in the States - in relative, as well as absolute terms.

Of course I think what they think is wrong and ignorant and offensive. I thought that would have been a given.

That doesn't stop me highlighting where I think you are guilty of making crass generalisations against Americans.

The vast majority of the Tea Party protestors are racist and homophobic. There is nothing shocking about this revelation.

Don't tell me that you have never seen anything that has made yopu so angry that you type or say something in haste. Yes it was a bit much to say that ALL Americans should hang their heads in shame because of the actions of tea party members however what i saw on that video was enough to make me want to vomit.

"Let me tell you what's going on over there raat now..that is pure, unadulterated evvvil"

There's something very American about that clip, but obviously many Americans would think they're spazzes.

Incidentally Anjem Choudary's been a bit quiet recently. He appears to be making his American debut.

The scary thing is that these protesters are apparent pillars of the community, politicians, rabbis, house wives and university lecturers, not the usual skin head types we associate with hate mongers.

It's Orange County, that's what they're like. They had an eugenics program there till the 50s, forced sterilization of undesirables, what we call blacks.

Surey the point about the Tea Party is that, even if they do not split the right wing vote, they are dragging the right wing further to the right.

In Britain of course the BNP and UKIP help the right wing party, because the Conservatives can condemn them (because they are a very small rump) and so look a bit better themselves.

Not so in the US I think, because the Tea Party, we are told, are much more numerous. So it looks as though the US right are doing exactly the wrong thing, we might expect Obama to be reelected and more Democrats to be elected.

Look at these disgusting individuals, calling innocent members of the Muslim community all sorts of names.

These insults are not only directed at adults but children as well. And there are certain US politicians joining in with the hate too:

And your proof they are a part of the American "Tea Party" is???

What an abhorrant and disgusting thing to see.

This video shows true intolerance, hatred, and racism on grounds of religious and cultural differences.

Of course one cannot and must not tar all Americans as behaving this way.

While many right wingers are happy to label all Muslims as terrorists or a "blight" on the face of the Earth, I will not fall into their hateful ways. Not all Americans believe the views of these despicable people nor support them.

It is a sad sight to see a woman with a son in the army spouting such hateful things about Muslims given her son's career and the need to be a member of the human race in pursuit of peace.

They are a stain on the American dream and on the American public, and I see them no differently to the EDL or the BNP except for the fact they try to come across as normal members of society when they are anything but. Do we really want people like this ruling the USA? It would mean the end of life as the rest of the world knows it. It is as important they never get to power as it is important in stopping Islamic terrorists.
