I have an analogue line in my living room and currently have a DECT basestation plugged into it.
I want to put a phone in another (my study) room which is impractical to run an extension lead to. Because the kids and wife keep picking up the dect mobile that i use there and putting it down where ever their wanderings take them i want to put a desktop phone in there. My problem is that i can only find desktop dect phones that are dect base stations.
If i buy one of these desktop base stations can i somehow connect it to the first basestation in the living room?

States that "The DeskDECT is a cordless feature phone for the desktop. Combining the style of a corporate telephone with the quality associated with all DECT products, the DeskDECT is GAP compatible and can be registered to other GAP compatible base stations."
Also note:
GAP Generic Access Profile; this is a common interface for phones to talk to base stations. In theory, any GAP-compatible phone can be used with any other GAP phone. Some features such as shared phonebooks, Intercom, Call transfer and Caller ID may not work, however you will be able to make and receive calls with out a problem. It is always wise to use the same manufacture when choosing a GAP phone to connect to your existing system but not necessary. Most DECT phones are GAP compatible but not all so when buying a DECT phone check the features for GAP Compatible.
There is a device called "A WIRELESS PHONE LINE EXTENDER" - http://www.maplin.co.uk/noframes/34899.htm
