When was the last time this movie was shown on channel 4? It used to get shown quite often on there back in the 90s but I can't remember the last time it was shown.

I love this film, we used to quote it all the time in School.

    "Fancy a jump?" Lol

Rita's dad was hilarious. And of course Sue is now Janice Garvey in Benidorm.

    "Make your own f***ing tea".

Think you mean Sue's dad - Sue was the blonde. And Rita is now in Benidorm.

I still say things like "Watch me bleedin' ornyments!", a line from Sue's mum, also completely hilarious.

Another favourite ...."If that teacher wants you to mek fookin buns, tell her to give you t'money!" but when Sue's dad says he'll tell the teacher that himself, Sue's mum then says "no you bloddy won't, I don't want people knowing what I can and cannot affowerd!" in complete contrast to what she said to begin with!!

    Such a funny film.

    "Watch me bleeding ornaments!"

"You haven't worked a day in your life"
    "I've done some things"

You have to watch these comments to really see the funny side because it's Sue's dad being drunk which makes it funny.

Ah yes accompanied by the old guy pretending to play 'don't forsake me oh my darling' on a fiddle.

I think the scene in the car is actually quite funny...and deliberately un-sexy as hell.

It's just the whole matter-of-fact style and earthiness of the whole thing that makes it funny for me...and I love the bit where Bob says 'I thought I were great!'

Yes, that was another of my favourite lines which I was thinking of.:D

By the way I remember Michelle Holmes who played Sue having a regular part on Coronation Street playing a character who was a barmaid.
