A broken clock is right twice a day, or so its been said on every single apocalyptic weather thread.

I think its safe to say it will be hotter in summer than it is in winter.

If we do get a scorcher, I shall not be complaining, we're due one and Im doing loads of English weekends this year so some good weather will be great.

If it's from the Express, please bear in mind that on May 13th last year, they told us to expect "another washout Summer" - what we got was the hottest driest Summer for a number of years.

They get their (mis) information from Jonathan Powell of Vantage weather services, who I've never heard of outside the Express's pages.

Express Summer 2013 forecast - same guy forecasting

It's "Jonathan Powell, forecaster for Vantage Weather Services..." again. He's one of the the "100 days of heavy snow" men from last Autumn's Winter forecast. Another one who did that is: "James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather" who does the same kind of fairytale forecasting.

Into the dustbin with this one, methinks.

It's not possible to predict that far in advance, but going from previous years, if it follows the same pattern.

Decent weather in March / April, usually results in a washout summer, this is your chance to make the most of it..

After a very soggy if mild winter, we've had a pretty good first half of the spring.

What do you mean we're due one, we had a heatwave all through last summer, most uncomfortable it was :D I'm hoping for the weather to stay just as it is today - sunny but cool, but that never happens :( When it gets hot in the UK it always gets muggy, so so uncomfortable.

ETA: At least I'm safe in the knowledge that they can't really predict the weather that far ahead, 48 hours maximum with any accuracy.

Doesn't this happen every year? About April, we get all these heatwave warnings saying it'll get warmer - that's just called summer, isn't it?

Yes. Then in around September /October these same strange people with seemingly near perfect psychic powers tell us its going to get colder soon. Amazing stuff.

I hope we do get a heatwave and all the fit lads will feel the need to remove their tops and show everyone the hard work they did at the gym :p
