Ratings also up in the Netherlands- it was the 2nd most watched show there last night (excluding news programmes)

Eurovision is in a Golden Age, it would seem!

Could a lot of those views for Albania perhaps be from Albanians who didn't get to see the show last night?

Ouch. Sometimes I'm so determined to see my favourites through, that I don't give a second thought to the artists who fail to make the final. It must be heartbreaking to put so much time and energy into one performance (over 6 months in Switzerland's case), and not qualify.

Only 64,000 (0.23%) watched ESC in Italy last night.

That's pretty bad even though it was on a digital-only channel.

Hopefully the final will be considerably stronger. I really, really don't want Italy to leave! :(

Probably something to do with the fact that it wasn't shown live in Albania last night.

      Montenegro 6th? Russia 7th?

Morning. I've had time to process last night's results and I still can't quite believe Albania went through over Switzerland, but there you go. That picture of the grannies with Sinplus in the foreground is heartbreaking :(

So, which countries would you like to see perform in slots 4 and 5?

I think Ukraine in 4th, and Norway in 5th.

I want Sweden in slot 5 just so that it becomes less of a landslide.

I was irritated by the Icelandic backing singers last night - they were so... visible. The song should have been about Great and Jonsi, but there was no connection, or passion.

Really think Hungary will struggle. They are performing second, and I think Englebert and Albania will cancel it out. Also, it is forgettable.

Oh I forgot to add thought Montenegro sounded pretty decent...I should learn not to listen to you lot when I have such a difference in opinion...:p;) That and to be fair the rehearsals didn't sound great at all...:D

Just rewatched the semi, and I was so struck second time around by how bad the camera work was.

They zoomed out when they needed to zoom in, and had closeups when we needed longshots. Iceland suffered for it (when the set changed colour it was zoomed in and should have been a longshot), Ireland should have had the overhead shot at the end, Latvia zoomed out at the inappropriate times for the dance moves, Moldova had some funny shots.. it was just a bit disappointing.

Enough nitpicks though, I enjoyed Greece a lot more second time around and Romania has moved a couple of places up in my rankings. And Sara Cox is just absolutely mental.. can't wait if mouldy does another pick of her sayings video. :D

      Some more ratings....

      Estonia: 200,000 (52%)
      Belgium (Flanders): 750,000 (34.17%)

That figure for Estonia is amazing seeing as they weren't even in last nights semi final.

I could be wrong, but last year, wasn't there rumors before the final, that the UK hadn't done well with juries?

Cyprus was the big let down for me camera work wise. For such an up-tempo song the shots were very boring.

Yeah, but that wasn't based on rumors. Blue's jury performance was terrible.

Not yet. All ratings have been delayed for some reason.

It would have to happen today of all days. :D
