    Well look at his previous companions he has had. Amy,Rory and Melody/River.
    They all started out as "normal" people . However their lives got so tangled up in the doctors and the people/creatures he fights against. "Normal" kind of goes out the window when you are a timelords freind. Good luck to Clara she might need it bless her!.

    I think that whatever has happened to Clara could well be something they've/The Doctor has caused.

    Clara(s) become whatever they are because they travelled with the Doctor but they wouldn't have travelled with the Doctor if he hadn't met them after they had travelled with the Doctor.

    If you look at the preview for The Bells Of Saint John, it really does debunk all of the ridiculous theories for Clara in a way.

    She's human, definitely but not immortal and not a past companion/variation of them/a child of them either.
