Yes, we've done comedians before, but usually in the negative sense only.
So name your favourite and least favourite comedi[an][enne].

Favourite: Stewart Lee (sardony rulez)
Least: Lee Evans (sweating and hyperactivity does not)

I like Billy Connolly, Kevin Bridges, Jimmy Carr and Russell Brand.

I concur that hyperactive Lee Evans is not funny in the slightest. Nor is Sarah "I like cake. Let's talk about me fanny!" Millican.

Best (I have a few): Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr, Dara O'Briain (despite him getting a lot of flack on here) and Russell Howard

    Worse: Peter bloody Kay.

    Best - Bill Hicks.

Worst - I'm gonna have to second Lee Evans. That sweating is so off-putting. Either him or Dane Cook.

    Several favourites, particularly Billy Connolly.

Several who I can't abide and find completely unfunny, particularly Andy Parsons.

At the moment, I like Stewart Lee and Jimmy Carr.

Not that keen on Russell Howard: a bit puerile and childish for me.

Howard's repertoire seems to consist of repeating supposedly amusing news stories in one of about three 'comedy' accents. His sister is much funnier on Him and Her.

Saw Stewart Lee last year and it was probably the finest stand up I've ever seen. Utterly masterful.

Not keen on Russell Howard at all. Some form of extended torture is in order there.

How can there be a best and worst comedian? Comedic tastes are subjective.

There can be no definitive conclusions about who is or is not funny, but I think the purpose of the thread is for us all to air our personal, subjective opinions. Kind of 'who, in your opinion is the best/worst comedian?' - which is a less pithy thread title.

Favourites would be Eddie Izzard and Ross Noble. Surreal comedy makes me laugh harder than anything.

Least favourites are Lee Evans and Peter Kay. I think people who like Lee Evans must be a different species to me. And any racists or sexists or general bigots and old manly manly blokey man bloke GRR man STRAIGHT WHITE MAN comics. You know. And women comics who are sexist, or who can't talk about anything else except being a women. Get out of your niche. You're making it worse! I mean, male comics talk about male oriented things sometimes but nowhere near as often as female comics come out and say "let's talk about my period!" or some such. Are they just the only ones who get airtime, for some twisted reason? I saw one the other day who was listing all these things "women do" and how stupid they were, when every single one applied to...well, everyone. Like checking your pockets (she said handbag but whatever) for your phone, and not finding it immediately, and panicking. Apparently that's a woman thing now? Lovely.

I don't know whether John Bishop is funny or not as I can't understand a word he says.

    Best: Bill Bailey
    Worst: Russell Brand

Indeed. I'm asking for your subjective opinion.

Who's that appalling posh boy one? Absolutely massive. Does the vaguely diffident Hugh Grant thing.

I want him to get some itchy parasite. Can't stand him.

He was in a drama and he was very good, but then he goes all Cilla when he is in comedian mode, I doubt anyone in Liverpool speaks like him.

In what sense do you mean 'massive', though?

I do agree, and I should clarify that in my opinion Peter Kay is crap. He does make others laugh, but I cannot stand him.
