is it true you cant copy sky+hd programmes to a dvd recorder?

    You can. Some channels/programmes like Sky Movies are normally scrambled in the copy process, so you won't be able to copy them if you have some stored on your current box.

    thankgod. my mum said you couldnt lol got a bit worried there !!

    i was trying to find ways to copy my old recordings to the new box or to a pc cos theyre protected as theyre very old but looks too complicated :(

    not really. that was about getting old recordings to a pc if i could connect the tv a pc. hence why i posted it in the computer forum.

    this was mainly about being able to record of sky+hd.

    It depends on the programme, some are macrovision protected to prevent copying - as far as I'm aware all HD ones are?.

    In my experience only Box Office material is routinely copy guarded.
    I've never had any trouble copying normal HD recordings to a DVD (in SD of course).
