Grangemouth unlikely to have a future, says INEOS

This story fascinated me when I saw it in a Scottish newspaper. Apparantely the oil company INEOS has threatened to shut down Scotlands (and Europes) biggest oil refinery if they can't get their own way on fracking. This comes just a year after INEOS were heavily subsidised by the UK and Scottish govts to keep the Grangemouth plant open long into the future. This begs the question, should oil companies be allowed to blackmail govts and entire communities in th is day and age

Incidentally, I have lived in Grangemouth next to this massive refinery my entire life so am conflicted on this issue.

No surprise there, fracking is just an excuse for INEOS to walk away from Grangemouth after they have asset stripped the complex.
