0% on Purchase Credit Card - Holiday money

Hi All,

Just a very quick question.... Long story short ive been caught short with spending money for my holiday after splitting up with my long term gf.

I applied and was accepted for a 0% for 16 month on purchases.

My question.. If i used this card to pay when exchanging money would this be seen as a purchase or a money transfer?

My feeling it would be a purchase as it would be using the chip and pin machine but if anybody has used this method before and could advise how it worked that would be great.

It is seen as a cash advance and you will be charged for it.

But watch out for foreign exchange usage fees. These can be anything from nothing to 3%.

Oh yes I normally take money but its useful having a card for unexpected purchases.
