How to connect HD

in Virgin Media TV and Phone #1
OK, I've just got a new 40 inch HD tv and a virgin media V+ box. Everytime I go through the instruction it just says no video signal. I go to Home > Setting > Change Display and Audio settings > its a HiDef HDMI for TV display format and 1080 for V+ box HiDef out put. Then I press OK and it say no video signal. What am I doing wrong?

    BTW I've got the cable in.

    I know with the sky box, you put in HDMI to the box and to your TV and it works automaticly so i'd assume it would be the same.

    Make sure your TV is on HDMI.
